{Betsey Johnson Dress, H&M Belt, Jessica Simpson Shoes, Tommy Hilfiger Tights, Forever 21 Sunglasses}

Blue skies are finally here again!  With the 30 for 30 Challenge (finally) officially behind me, I jumped at the chance to inject some color back into my life.  It felt SO GOOD!  I scored this lovely Betsey Johnson dress for an additional half-off the current sale price and I couldn’t be more pleased with it.  The skirt is really full and just makes me feel like twirling whenever I wear it… although I usually wait until I’m out of view from my co-workers before doing so.

I also scored these sky-high heels (seen on fashion bloggers all across the interwebs) for half-price as well.  Sadly, I think they’re all sold out on the Jessica Simpson website (except for a size 5 in purple crushed velvet), but I posted a link above to Macy’s where they still have them at full price.  With a 5.8 inch heel, these shoes put me over 6 feet tall!  I admit, it makes me feel a little freakish to tower over everyone on a crowded NYC subway, but they’re totally walkable because of the super-thick platform sole.

And yes… I also got them in black.  Like I told you guys before, I have a really bad habit of buying things in multiples.

  • Lelia March 16, 2011 at 12:42 am

I LOVE towering over people in crowds! I’m not sure why it gives me so much satisfaction. Probably something psychological to that, but I feel most comfortable when I’m the tallest person around. I’m loving the purple on you! Its a perfect spring transition look.

Awesome 70’s inspired outfit. These photos are great, loving that backdrop.

  • Santina March 16, 2011 at 4:01 pm

Hey, when you find something you like, why wouldn’t you buy it in multiples (spoken as a true enabler)? I’m a tall girl, too, and I really miss wearing towering heels and being even taller. As my return to city life approaches, I find myself daydreaming about my shoes (and the ones I have yet to buy!).

These colors look gorgeous on you! Love these pics – the background is beautiful!

  • Lynncallaway March 16, 2011 at 2:00 pm

I love the whole look! That dress with the belt and shoes, you rocked it! I love the purple tights with the Dany’s! I have a pair and I am already tall so I am an amazon with those shoes on. Again, great look.
    besos,lynn

  • MONKEYFACE March 17, 2011 at 2:55 pm

Kendra you are a color queen. Also neutral queen. You just have a way with color/non-color, lol. LOVE THIS. And your new sky high’s!

  • Alex March 17, 2011 at 1:40 pm

Your dress is so so so cute and I love that you paired it with colorful tights as well! I’ve been lusting over those shoes in silver forever and I really regret not getting them when they first came out.

  • Kimberlee VDW March 17, 2011 at 5:33 pm

I love those Jessica Simpson shoes… so jealous of everyone who snagged them! hehe

  • DivaMom March 18, 2011 at 8:57 am

Kendra, are those shoes comfortable? I’ve been eyeing them for quite some time but haven’t purchased for fear that they will inflict excruciating pain or I’d topple over because of the heel height. Let me know…my desire to purchase is overwhelming now that I see them on u =)

Thanks for stopping by! I’m looking forward to the paper doll project too!

  • ClosetConfections March 21, 2011 at 11:51 pm

Apologies for the delayed response! In relation to the heel height, they’re reasonably comfortable. The platform heel definitely makes it wearable, as opposed to if it were a regular 5 inch heel. If you’re pretty comfortable in heels already, I’d say go for it. Just avoid cobblestone, lol!

Great outfit! Those shoes are incredible!
