{Betsey Johnson Dress, H&M Belt, Jessica Simpson Shoes, Tommy Hilfiger Tights, Forever 21 Sunglasses}

Blue skies are finally here again!  With the 30 for 30 Challenge (finally) officially behind me, I jumped at the chance to inject some color back into my life.  It felt SO GOOD!  I scored this lovely Betsey Johnson dress for an additional half-off the current sale price and I couldn’t be more pleased with it.  The skirt is really full and just makes me feel like twirling whenever I wear it… although I usually wait until I’m out of view from my co-workers before doing so.

I also scored these sky-high heels (seen on fashion bloggers all across the interwebs) for half-price as well.  Sadly, I think they’re all sold out on the Jessica Simpson website (except for a size 5 in purple crushed velvet), but I posted a link above to Macy’s where they still have them at full price.  With a 5.8 inch heel, these shoes put me over 6 feet tall!  I admit, it makes me feel a little freakish to tower over everyone on a crowded NYC subway, but they’re totally walkable because of the super-thick platform sole.

And yes… I also got them in black.  Like I told you guys before, I have a really bad habit of buying things in multiples.

Closet Confection: On the Mayflower

2010_1102_outfit1

When: Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

Where: Work

What: Coat (Miss Sixty), dress ($10 via Old Navy clearance sale), scarf ($30 Missoni via eBay), shoes ($50 Vince Camuto via Loehmann’s)

So, my second day taking my own photos went a little more smoothly than the first.  This time around, I just focused on completely tuning out the people around me. It almost worked like a charm, except for the random old guy who yelled “Good luck!”

I’m still not sure what that was about.

Anyhoo, back to the outfit.

I bought this dress at Old Navy a few years back.  And because I have a terrible habit of buying things in multiples, I have another one in black.  I almost forgot I had this dress until I recently reorganized my closet (video post coming as soon as I get my hands on a decent editing program).

After leaving the apartment and arriving to work, I suddenly remembered why I never wear this dress…

DOH! I think I subconsciously knew that I looked like a pilgrim, which is why I decided to top it off by wearing these buckled ankle boots.

See, that’s what happens when your life is centered around food.  Last month I was channeling McDonald’s, and this month it’s Thanksgiving apparently.  I’m not going to worry about it too much, but I draw the line at dressing like a turkey.

When: Saturday, October 16th, 2010

Where: Addison Park

What: Dress (H&M), neck tube (H&M), boots (Elie Tahari sample sale), socks (Century 21)

Check out my swanky new digs!

HA, I WISH!

No, I haven’t suddenly moved into a mansion (yet!).  This is just me killing some time before my friend’s wedding.

2010_1016_outfit3

Yes, I was a bridesmaid.  And no, this was not the dress I wore to actual wedding…

Although this would have been way more comfortable since it was absolutely frrreezing, and our dresses were sleeveless!  I tried wearing my circle scarf, but the bride wasn’t having it.

2010_1016_outfit4

Oh well, you can’t blame me for trying.

2010_1016_outfit5

Although I did slip back into my cozy knee socks after the reception.

P.S. In case you were wondering… Yes, this is the same dress that I wore apple picking, just in a different color.
