I wish that I had more occasions to wear cute little party dresses like this one.  Not that a woman needs an excuse to get all dolled up… Au contraire!

In fact, I once knew a girl who always wore a string of pearls to the gym.  And my college roommate would put on full makeup before doing laundry (and sometimes fire drills, which I was forced to take exception with).  My only absolute necessity is a pair of earrings.  I just feel naked without them, so I try to keep a pair of emergency studs in my makeup bag.

Would love to know if any of you readers have any finishing touches that you never leave home without.

    Hey there darling!
Sarah Ashley here from The Quirky Martini! I’m seriously loving how flattering this dress is on you… It looks so insanely cute! With that said, I would have liked to see a little bit more edge accessories-wise, because it’s such a darling dress– so a little contrast wouldn’t hurt! Have a beautiful day, dear!!!

Thanks, Ashley! This dress is pretty versatile, so I agree that edgier accessories could work too. One of my favorite ways I’ve worn it is bold yellow accessories and my crazy floral print platform maryjanes (which are due for a blog appearance), but this time I was shooting for a more demure look.

Pretty pictures.  You look marvelous darling.  I never leave without accessories of some sort.

I feel naked without earrings too… which is a shame since I somehow left the house without any on today, eep! I really aught to keep some emergency spares at the office. That’s such a great dress, it looks fantastic on you, and I love the broach at the waist, so pretty!

Ugh, I hate when that happens! Keeping spares at the office is probably a good idea.

I’m the same way with earrings.  I can go without bracelets and necklaces, but to go without earrings makes me feel awkward.  And makeup.  I can’t go anywhere without it on.  I love your party dress!

I participated in a charity walk not too long ago wearing a dress and a full face of makeup. The other participants looked at me like I was crazy, but I feel so much better after reading this post. As I get older I feel like I should make an effort when I leave the house and that includes taking the time to put on makeup and making an effort with my outfit. College is over and for me that means not running around in sweatpants anymore.

This is such an elegant outfit, I love it!

I never leave the house without earrings, but it is actually because I am afraid of the earlobe piercings to disappear.

Lol, I used to worry about that too! But I think you’re safe going without earrings for a while if you’ve had your ears pierced for several years.
