Pink… Ruffles… Chiffon…

As a self-proclaimed girly-girl, this top pretty much had my name written all over it.  Since this blouse makes a pretty bold statement all on its own, I decided to keep the rest of my ensemble pretty basic with dark rinse jeans and nude shoes.  This outfit turned out to be perfect for a casual weekend brunch.

For me, visiting college campuses is always a bittersweet experience.  And our little excursion to Harvard this past weekend was no exception. While it’s nice to be reminded of all the fun I used to have in college (tons of freedom with very little responsibility other than going to class), it’s also a wake up call that I’m no longer the fresh-eyed coed I used to be.  Oh well, I like to still think I could at least pass as a grad student!

Closet Confection: This One’s A Classic

The thing I love about this outfit is that it’s full of classic pieces (double-breasted trench, silky striped skirt, and saddle shoes), but each item has a funky little twist that keeps the whole look fresh and modern.
