Walmart Summer Dress Trends - Time and Tru Smocked Midi Dress
Time and Tru Smocked Midi Dress (similar), Straw Boater Hat (similar), Time and Tru Wooden Heel Sandals, Straw Circle Bag (similar)

It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a cute summer dress – especially if it has pockets! As soon as I spotted this gorgeous dress while browsing Walmart Fashion, I knew I had to have it. It hits all of my current favorite summer trends, including a ruffled shoulder, smocked detailing, and a ladylike hemline. Also, who could resist this cheery plaid print?! I love it so much, I’m seriously considering ordering this dress as well.

To complete this casual preppy look, I added a straw boater hat, comfy wooden heel sandals, and a straw circle bag that not only looks good but is big enough to hold all of my summer essentials. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve worn this dress at least once a week since I bought it. I love how it easily takes me from school drop-offs and pickups to a brunch date and an afternoon of shopping in the city. The quality is amazing and has held up great after several washes.

Target is Officially Bringing Life to My Closet this Spring!

This post is in paid collaboration with Target and Rewardstyle, but all items were hand-chosen by me. Thank you for supporting the brands that help keep this blog running.

After months of being stuck inside, it’s official – I’m done with winter! As the remnants of our last snow storm stubbornly melt away, I’m ready to shed my winter uniform in exchange for breezy dresses, strappy sandals, floral prints, and pastels. Luckily, Target has your girl covered on all fronts – and I’ve been eagerly updating my closet with some of my latest finds. If you’ve been inside of a Target recently, you’ve certainly noticed all of the cute spring pieces currently on display.

Case in point – this gorgeous lilac frock from A New Day. Just looking at this outfit has me dreaming of weekend brunch in the city at one of my favorite outdoor cafes. The dress speaks for itself, so I kept the accessories simple with a straw boater hat, rattan belt, and tortoise-print sandals.

Next up is this stunning tiered maxi dress with balloon sleeves from Universal Thread. This dress is the stuff that dreams are made of. I mean that literally, because it may or may not double as the perfect house dress when worn loosely without a belt. The material is so floaty and lightweight – and did I mention that it has pockets?! It comes in several different colors, and I’m tempted to snatch up another one soon.

And last, but certainly not least, I present to you this cute and ridiculously cozy tie-dye lounge set from Stars Above. I’m generally not a sweatshirt and joggers type of gal, but this outfit completely won me over. This look is perfect for those busy work-from-home days when you just need to hunker down and complete a project. Throw on a pair of smart sneakers, and you’re ready to take a break and grab a quick cup of coffee.

Closet Confection: The Little Dress That Could…

When the lovely folks over at SuperTrash invited me to pick my favorite piece to style according to my personality, I immediately gravitated towards the gorgeous, cobalt blue, silk Daimy dress. As soon as it arrived, I did what any self-respecting fashionista does when she acquires a new wardrobe addition…

I played DRESS-UP!

I was pleasantly surprised at how versatile this little dress turned out to be. Check out the pics below for the 4 different looks I was able to create.

dress1
For my first look, I decided to let the dress do the talking by playing up it’s bold hue with fun, colorful accessories.

The second time around, I tossed on a flirty leopard-print miniskirt. I really liked how the pop of blue peaking out below the skirt added an extra dose of color. I went with patent navy heels and a coordinating clutch to polish off the look.

They say the third time is the charm, so I piled on my favorite vintage necklaces to add a touch of bling to this casual ensemble. If you look closely, you’ll see there’s a miniature fortune cookie and a working whistle alongside my tassled pendant.

Since this is, after all, a style off… I couldn’t resist being a little cheeky with my last look. And yes, I was in fact a science geek back in high school… albeit a well-dressed one!
