Closet Raid: 30 for 30 Round Two!

After much internal debate, I decided to go for a second round of Kendi Everyday’s 30 for 30 Challenge!  I was on the fence at first because it felt so soon after the last challenge, but I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet since I enjoyed the first one so much.

After spending the better part of this weekend selecting my 30 items and putting together potential outfits, I pooled them all together for your viewing pleasure below:

tops
{Topshop, Forever21, Michael Kors, Banana Republic, United Colors of Benetton, H&M, Uniqlo, J. Crew, Rugby}

30for30_jackets
{Rugby, H&M, H&M, Topshop}

30for30_pants
{Uniqlo, Forever 21, Forever 21}

30for30_dresses

I look forward to 3o days of sleeping in a little later than usual since all of my outfits are already picked out.  Feel free to drop me a line in the comment section if you’re taking part in the challenge too.

Happy Remixing!

Closet Raid: How I Organize My Baubles

I’ll be the first to admit that I have a weakness when it comes to accessories… and shoes… and dresses…

Over the years I’ve amassed a pretty sizeable collection, so I thought I’d take a moment to show you how I keep some of my favorites organized and on display.

Urban Outfitter Earring Stand

This nifty little ceramic tree keeps my favorite earrings within reach.

Urban Outfitter Necklace Holder

Bronze branches prevent my delicate necklaces from getting tangled.  In case you haven’t noticed, I have a thing for wildlife-inspired jewelry, especially birds, cats, feathers, and leaves.

Urban Outfitter Ring Holder

My precious silver kitty safeguards a few of my rings…

…while kissing bunnies take care of the rest.

As for my jewelry collection, I stock up on most of my trinkets at places like Forever 21 and H&M.  When I’m in the mood for something a bit more substantial, I’ll check out street vendors (there are some awesome hand-crafted wares in SoHo), flea markets, vintage stores, Henri Bendels and eBay.  All of the display stands you see here were purchased at Urban Outfitters.

Closet Raid: My 30 for 30 Round-Up!

Hey Gang!

I’m all prepped and ready for the 30 for 30 wardrobe remix challenge.  After much thought and consideration, I think I’ve come up with a fool-proof wardrobe to get me through the next 30 days.

As you’ve probably noticed, I live in dresses.  That’s because I’m usually rushing out of the house in the mornings, and wearing a dress means I don’t have to worry about mixing and matching.  In fact, I could probably reach into my closet blindfolded and pull out a decent-looking outfit every time.  When choosing my 30 items, I was pretty tempted to just pick out 25 dresses plus a few pairs of shoes and just call it a day.  But what would be the fun in that?

Instead of taking the easy route, I decided to switch it up and make this a true remixing challenge by limiting myself to just 5 dresses.

And without further adieu, here’s the lineup:

FIVE SHIRTS

FIVE SWEATERS

1 BLAZER & 2 TUNICS

FIVE DRESSES

4 SKIRTS

2 PAIRS OF PANTS

6 PAIRS OF SHOES

So there you have it!

I even threw in two pairs of pants to really make things interesting. For those of you who are also taking part in the challenge, I’d love to see what you’ve have chosen for your 30 items.  So please do drop a link to your roundup in the comments section.

And for everyone, stay tuned for 30 days of me whining and complaining about not being able to shop.  JUST KIDDING! I’m taking Thanksgiving off, so you’ll only see 29 days of me complaining.
