Recently, a slew of bloggers were invited to join Lord & Taylor’s Fashion Director, Paula Correri and Lucky Style Contributor, Lori Bergamotto for an exclusive breakfast and shopping preview of Lord & Taylor’s contemporary fall must-haves.

After a quick run down of the season’s hottest trends (SHINE. COLOR-BLOCKING. COLORED JEANS.) and a few beauty tips (when all else fails, you can’t go wrong with bright lips and black winged eyeliner), we were each given a free gift card and encouraged to roam free before the store opened to the public.  After much consternation, I went with the above blouse and skirt combo.  I loved how versatile the two pieces were… plus they were on sale for additional 20% off!

Whenever I make a new purchase, I like to go home and see how they work with other items in my wardrobe.  So below is a sneak peak at a few of the combos I was able to come up with…

Lord & Taylor FNO Shopping Spree: BCBGeneration Petal Sleeve Blouse, H&M Pleated Skirt, Michael Kors Bronze Pumps
{BCBGeneration Blouse worn with: H&M Skirt, Michael Kors Pumps via eBay

Lord & Taylor FNO Shopping Spree: BCBGeneration Petal Sleeve Blouse, Forever 21 Ankle Zip Skinny Jeans, H&M Pink Python Pumps

Lord & Taylor FNO Shopping Spree: H&M Denim Shirt, Trina Turk Vidal A-Line Skirt, Vince Camuto Tan Ankle Booties

Lord & Taylor FNO Shopping Spree: Marc Jacobs Short-Sleeve Ruffle Front Blouse, Trina Turk Vidal A-Line Skirt, Faryl Robin Black Python Pumps

I’m sure I could have come up with even more combos, so these two items are definitely keepers and welcome additions to my closet!

Closet Raid: Getting Down to Business

workplace

I know a lot of you guys really enjoy my more office-friendly attire. So I’ve gone through and tagged all of my work outfits for your easy, breezy viewing pleasure. You can check ’em out in all their glory HERE!

One word of caution:  My office doesn’t have a very strict dress code.  So on days when I don’t have client meetings, I like to do kooky things like…

2011_0825_outfit3Wear umbrellas on my skirts…
2010_1014_outfit4Prance around in silly tights…
2010_1112_outfit2Don turbans and other dubious headwear…
2010_1007_outfit1And I’ve even gone so far as to dress up like the Hamblurglar!

The bottom line is, I like to have fun with my workplace wardrobe. I hope you enjoy!

Closet Confection: The Little Dress That Could…

When the lovely folks over at SuperTrash invited me to pick my favorite piece to style according to my personality, I immediately gravitated towards the gorgeous, cobalt blue, silk Daimy dress. As soon as it arrived, I did what any self-respecting fashionista does when she acquires a new wardrobe addition…

I played DRESS-UP!

I was pleasantly surprised at how versatile this little dress turned out to be. Check out the pics below for the 4 different looks I was able to create.

dress1
For my first look, I decided to let the dress do the talking by playing up it’s bold hue with fun, colorful accessories.

dress2
The second time around, I tossed on a flirty leopard-print miniskirt. I really liked how the pop of blue peaking out below the skirt added an extra dose of color. I went with patent navy heels and a coordinating clutch to polish off the look.

dress3
They say the third time is the charm, so I piled on my favorite vintage necklaces to add a touch of bling to this casual ensemble. If you look closely, you’ll see there’s a miniature fortune cookie and a working whistle alongside my tassled pendant.

Since this is, after all, a style off… I couldn’t resist being a little cheeky with my last look. And yes, I was in fact a science geek back in high school… albeit a well-dressed one!
