When: Sunday, June 6th, 2010

Where: Dinner in Meatpacking District

What: Romper ($30 Sassy City Chicks Fashion Bash), belt ($28 Anthropologie), cardigan ($30 Filene’s Basement), shoes ($40 Banana Republic clearance sale)

This outfit was definitely a step outside of my comfort zone, as I typically don’t do shorts.  But I figured if I was going to go there, I might as well go all the way and throw on a bunch of crazy prints!

I adore bold patterns but usually stick to one main piece (like a skirt, dress, or top) and keep everything else pretty basic.  I was feeling a little adventurous yesterday, so I decided to try something different this time around.  I think it works here because I stuck to the same color palette (black and white).  I also like how the wood accents on the belt, sweater, and soles of my shoes all came together to give the outfit a cool tribal vibe.

On a side note, the Sassy City Chick’s Fashion Bash was fan-freakin’-tastic!  All of my pics are on my other camera, so I’ll be posting later today about the awesome finds I picked up at the event.  Stay tuned!

Oh my, I love this! I am obsessed with rompers right now, but a lot of them aren’t so flattering on curvier body types like mine. But the cap sleeves and longer shorts of this one are perfection! Plus the Anthro belt for $28, I mean 😉

As a fellow curvy girl, I was a little bit wary of rompers as well. Luckily, this one has wider leg openings (cuz tight shorts are a big no-no for me) and provided a good amount of coverage. The platform heels also help elongate the legs. And yes, this belt was an amazing find. I almost ran to the register out of fear they put the wrong price tag on it, lol!

    Love the romper!
We have similar fashion taste, for sure.
I can’t get enough of rompers this summer.
