Closet Confection: Eight Feet Tall

navajo topshop cape, uniqlo heattech turtleneck, black uniqlo corduroys, vince camuto suede ankle boots

When: Sunday, February 6th, 2011

Where: Out and About

What: Coatigan (Topshop), turtleneck (Uniqlo), corduroys (Uniqlo), ankle boots (Vince Camuto)

With our recent cold snap, I’m soooo glad I included this jacket in my 30 for 30 round-up.  It’s pretty much like wearing a big cozy blanket all day long… but without looking like a crazy person… or maybe just a really stylish crazy person.

In other news, I’m entering Day 3 of my fruit & veggie detox, and I’m feeling pretty good.  I had a major headache the first day, but that went away after a good night’s sleep.  Oh, and if you follow me on twitter, you know that I’ve gone to the gym before work TWICE this week already!  I’m pretty much a zombie before 10am, so this is a major feat for me.  I’ve also been trying to go to bed by 10:30pm each evening, and it’s proving to be a lot harder than I thought it would be.  What can I say, I’m a night owl!

Anyhoo, it’s about time for this old bird to do a few chores and get ready for bed.  Ta-ta for now!

That jacket looks soo warm and cozy, I need to get myself one like that. This cold is getting too much! But I love how you paired it with the all-black outfit and let it stand out. Perfect week-end wear!

Love that coatigan (grr, hate this name though..)!
Don’t tell me about going to bed before 11..it’s a though thing to do. I’m also on a diet/switch to eating healthier. It’s quiet hard for the first few weeks, but once you’re in you hardly remember how you used to eat 🙂

Eating healthy is great and I’m all for it, but you need a balanced diet to be healthy. I avoid extremes and feel wonderful by using the Sparkpeople website. It’s free, well- researched and easy to use. I lost 30 pounds last year, even enjoyed doing it and I’ve kept it off. Give that website a try. Even my husband uses it to feel healthier.

I love this jacket – what a cool pattern!!! What type of detox are you doing? I have been thinking about doing one myself…

    • ClosetConfections February 10, 2011 at 2:25 pm

I’m just eliminating all meat, dairy, gluten and processed foods for 7-days to help clean out my system. So I’m mostly eating fresh fruits and veggies, soups, brown rice, herbal tea and lots and lots of water. I try to do this at least twice a year, and it really helps me get my eating habits back on track.

  • Twenty.Something February 10, 2011 at 2:19 pm

    LOVE that pattern! Gorgeous.

Thanks for the suggestion. I used it a couple of years back and found it useful, but somehow it fell off my radar. I totally agree about avoiding extremes. I’m not really doing the 7-day detox to lose weight. I just know when my system needs a break, and I try to fast from meat, dairy and gluten at least twice a year and use it as a time to get mental clarity and focus on the goals I want to achieve in multiple areas of my life. Good luck to you and your hubby on your healthy journey!

Lol, I thought the name was kinda funny when I saw it on Topshop’s website. And you’re totally right that eating healthier gets easier over time.

Once you’re back on track, it makes you feel so much better and you have so much more energy. Good luck!
