Look #1: {Port Authority Shirt, Tommy Hilfiger Skirt, Zara Skirt, Vince Camuto Booties, Forever 21 Sunglasses, Vintage Earrings}
Look #2: {Port Authority Shirt, Express Skirt, Michael Kors Shoes, Forever 21 Necklace, Clutch & Sunglasses}
For my 5th assignment in the Jane By Design Style Challenge, I had to take a plain white button-up shirt and style 2 looks: one for daytime and one for nighttime.
I decided to do a somewhat preppy take for my daytime look with a v-neck sweater and pleated navy skirt. I’ve worn similar outfits both to work and for hanging out on the weekends. A classic look like this pretty much never goes out of style and can be pulled together on short notice. The bright colors and peep-toe booties help punch up the look and keep it from being boring.
For my evening look, I attempted to channel a little Carolina Herrera by popping the collar and rolling up the sleeves. The little white shirt is her signature look for myriad occasions, and it’s easy to see why. The ruffled pencil skirt, crocodile clutch, and bejeweled bib necklace lend understated sophistication to this ensemble.

I love the night version with the black skirt!
I’ve been thinking of pairing a white button down with trousers and some dressy heels and instead of buttoning the shirt, I’d wrap it around my waist and belt it up. I think this will require me to use a slightly larger shirt so that it covers the essentials. Then add some sparkly accessories.
Oooh, that sounds lovely! And yes, I agree a larger shirt would definitely be in order.
I love the second skirt! Happy New Year!
Both looks are absolutely gorgeous!!! Love the styling and that black skirt with the fab side ruffle needs to be delivered to my doorstep ASAP! LOL. Happy New Year hunni!
Love the second look…very chic. The statement necklace is great.
