Closet Confection: Baby, It’s Cold Outside

2010_1223_outfit1

When: Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

Where: Central Park

What: Dress (vintage via eBay), down vest (Gap), boots (thrifted via Beacon’s Closet), belt (H&M), earmuffs (H&M)

I was fully intending to remove my vest and earmuffs before snapping these pics in the park, but it was C-C-C-COLD!

I haven’t worn a down vest since college, but when I saw this ultra-thin version on sale at the Gap for $17 I decided to give it a go.  This turned out to be a good decision (right on up there with marrying my husband and moving to New York City), and I’ve been wearing it under my jackets all weekend to help keep warm.

P.S. I’ve linked this post up with Jewelscapes Bejeweled Wednesdays!

What an amazing vintage dress!! I love how you went all black&gold, it’s VERY sophisticated.

And the earmuff look is too cute!

It actually makes me want to wear earmuffs even though it rarely gets cold enough to wear them here!

I like that dress a lot, too.

Oh, I wish I was lucky enough to live someplace that;s warm all year ’round.

Yeah, I can see how it wouldn’t float everyone’s boat, but it definitely fulfilled it’s objective of keeping me warm. Sometimes a girl’s gotta choose comfort over style, lol. You look great in your winter warm gear!
Hope your Christmas has been amazing and the blizzard isn’t wreaking too much havoc in your life.

Central Park. I’m so jealous. We made two trips to NYC this year, and hope to return in 2011. Great outfit and I’m loving the vest and belt look.

I hope you make it back in 2011. There’s always something new to see and do here. I have a hard time keeping track, and I live here!

Sorry! I know I am spamming you, but I usually read blogs in the bed from my iphone and i can’t comment, but tonight I am suffering from major insomnia and the phone wasn’t cutting it so I am actually at the computer blog stalking, which means I can comment away! (one of my NY resolutions anyway!)

Now that the disclaimer is out of the way! I LOVE the belted puffy vest thing you’ve got going on. Karla’s Kloset had a similar thing going on recently, and I loved it on her too! I like to think that I am too broad up top for anything puffy, but I really want to try this out because it’s so stinking cute and unexpected!

Thanks! I had a wonderful Christmas and New Years, and luckily the snow is starting to melt.
