That’s why this weekend, I’ll be happily trekking out to Long Island to check out Brooklyn Creamery’s all new, all natural Fresh Dairy Cream which models itself after British double cream.
If you’ve never tried it, double cream is a thick, rich concoction with a texture similar to sour cream or crème fraîche but much smoother and without the tartness. What excites me most about Brooklyn Creamery’s version is the fact that there’s no artificial ingredients, no added salts or sugars, and no carbs! If you’re like me and use a lot of heavy cream in your cooking, this product has the potential to take your favorite soup, dip, sauce and dessert recipes to the next level.
And if double cream’s a litle too rich for your tastes, there’s also single cream which is less thick and half the fat. Single cream can be used in scramble eggs or to make homemeade coffee creamer – just mix it with vanilla extract or your favorite flavoring.

I don’t have a favorite…it’s kind of becoming my go-to instead of regular cream. I’ve used it for pastas and soups and a Mexican topping for quesadillas…one is going on my blog shortly. But its so versatile…there are tons of ways to use it!
