When: Sunday, April 25th

Where: Lunch at The Meatball Shop + hanging out on the Lower East Side

What: Leather Jacket ($200 Century 21), floral chiffon dress ($25 Forever21), handbag ($99 Elliott Lucca via Loehmann’s), butterfly umbrella ($20 Central Park Conservancy shop), wellies (Hunter via Overstock.com)

As you all know, I love splashing about on rainy days.  And this weekend was no different.  I was craving some cozy comfort food, so the hubby and I headed to The Meatball Shop over on Stanton.  I’m slightly obsessed with that place.  The food is tasty, prices are good, and the portions are plentiful.  And my favorite way to end each meal is with a mix-and-match icecream sandwich (one chocolate chip cookie, one peanut butter cookie, and caramel icecream).  Yummy!

After that, we took in some window shopping and head back home to prepare for the week ahead.

When: Saturday, April 24th

Where: Bookstore, Lucky Burger and a walkabout town

What: Hooded jacket (Rugby by Ralph Lauren), v-neck tee (J.Crew), jeggings (T.J. Maxx), yellow gladiator sandals (Cynthia Vincent for Target), brown suede handbag (Kenneth Cole)

I was SOOOOOOO TIRED earlier after doing a day of volunteering with Hands on New York.  I spent the entire morning helping to clean up and revitalize Momma & Poppa Jones Community Garden out in Brooklyn. I even made a few new “friends”.  Check me out with my buddy, Gilbert:

Afterwards, I came home, showered, and fell asleep on the couch while watching an episode of Murder She Wrote on Netflix.  When I woke up, I was ravenous but still a little sore from all the raking and weeding.  Needless to say, I just wanted to be cozy (but still cute).  So, I just threw on a hoodie, some stretchy jeans (which are apparently called jeggings now), and off I went to grab a burger and take a moonlit stroll with my guy.

Closet Confection: In the Navy

When: Friday, April 23rd

Where: Work and dinner at Spice Market

What: Striped ruffle sleeve top ($20 H&M via eBay), navy blue sailor skirt ($40 Club Monaco clearance sale), brown suede pumps w/ patent leather cap toe ($30 Nicole Miller via Filene’s Basement), brown suede handbag ($50 Kenneth Cole via Loehmann’s), green canvas jacket ($35 H&M on sale)

This Friday was my 5-year wedding anniversary.  Usually, my husband and I manage to take a vacation to celebrate the occasion.  But plans just didn’t work out this year because of my new job schedule and because his Spring Break fell earlier this year.  So, we wound up just having a wonderful and romantic dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Spice Market.

I’m really excited about nautical fashion influences this spring, and I thought my new ruffle sleeve top paired with a sailor skirt I picked up 2 years ago would be a perfect, work-appropriate interpretation.  When I originally tried this top on at H&M in a larger size, I had mixed feelings about it and.  Then, I saw another woman wearing it beautifully a few weeks later, and I decided that I had to have it.  Of course, it was sold out by then, and I wound up finding it randomly on eBay in a smaller size (and by random, I mean that I searched almost every day for an entire week until I found someone selling it).  So far, I’m really happy with it’s versatility. I also wore it with jeans the previous weekend, and it looked equally as cute:
