When: Sunday, June 6th, 2010

Where: Dinner in Meatpacking District

What: Romper ($30 Sassy City Chicks Fashion Bash), belt ($28 Anthropologie), cardigan ($30 Filene’s Basement), shoes ($40 Banana Republic clearance sale)

This outfit was definitely a step outside of my comfort zone, as I typically don’t do shorts.  But I figured if I was going to go there, I might as well go all the way and throw on a bunch of crazy prints!

I adore bold patterns but usually stick to one main piece (like a skirt, dress, or top) and keep everything else pretty basic.  I was feeling a little adventurous yesterday, so I decided to try something different this time around.  I think it works here because I stuck to the same color palette (black and white).  I also like how the wood accents on the belt, sweater, and soles of my shoes all came together to give the outfit a cool tribal vibe.

On a side note, the Sassy City Chick’s Fashion Bash was fan-freakin’-tastic!  All of my pics are on my other camera, so I’ll be posting later today about the awesome finds I picked up at the event.  Stay tuned!

When: Saturday, June 5th, 2010

Where: Waiting for the Spa Castle shuttle bus in Queens

What: Dress ($20 Liberty of London for Target clearance sale), shoes ($30 Payless), handbag ($55 Junior Drake via HauteLook), earrings ($13.50 Privileged via HauteLook) shades ($9 Brooklyn street fair)

Yesterday, I decided to treat my husband to a surprise day at the spa.  So off we went to Spa Castle.  The experience was amazing!  For less than $100/person, we enjoyed back massages, 7 different types of saunas, Asian acupressure, an outdoor Bade massage pool, and a traditional Korean lunch.  Oh, and they also had a room where you could lie down and watch your own personal television while getting a foot and arm massage!

Since the day was all about relaxation, I just threw on my favorite summertime uniform: a cute sundress and comfy sandals.  In this case, the comfy sandals were a rare find from Payless.  They’re made out of real leather, and have withstood the test of time (I’ve had them for almost 5 years).  Just goes to show that expensive does not always equal better as I’ve spent way more on other shoes that have fallen apart after just one season.

When: Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Where: Hangin’ out in the city

What: Dress (H&M), shoes (Kenneth Cole), earrings (H&M), bracelet (Gap)

What better way to kick off the summer than with a white linen dress?

Yep, I couldn’t think of one either!  I was originally planning to wear this dress on Memorial Day.   But then I realized that BBQ and white clothing just don’t mix.  Or rather, BBQ, white clothing, and my messy self just don’t mix!

Since we were doing a lot of walking that day, I decided to wear my most comfy sandals.  It’s going on 4 years with these babies, and I wear them to death in the summer.  So much so that my shoe repair guy tells me I should just let them go rather than keep having the elastic replaced near the buckle.  The thing is, I haven’t been able to find a suitable replacement in all these years.  In addition to having a simple, classic design that never goes out of style (at least I hope it doesn’t), the arch support on these sandals is amazing.

However, since I’m all about embracing change, I’m open to suggestions for alternatives if anyone has them.  Bring it on!
