I used to HATE setting New Year’s Resolutions! They just always seemed so contrived, and I’d usually abandon them before the month of January was even out. In any case, I must be getting soft in my old age because I’ve recently had a change of heart and have decided to make a few resolutions for the first time in many years.

In this video, I share with you my Top 4 New Year’s Resolutions, plus my action plan for making them happen. I’m applying the philosophy of S.M.A.R.T. goal-setting which stands for Smart, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Timely. I’m definitely a no-fuss, no-muss kinda gal when it comes to my hair. So I’m always on the lookout for styles and products that can have me out the door and looking great in the shortest amount of time possible. Well, I think I’ve hit the jackpot with this simple, yet elegant up ‘do. I love wearing my curls of all shapes and sizes, from loose tendrils to tight corkscrews… and EVERYTHING in between. Over the years, I’ve tried all sorts of gadgets on my mane – like steam hot rollers, flexi-rods, flatirons, curlformers, and more – but never a rotating curling iron. I was intrigued when I first saw it online, and thought to myself “Why not?”. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it. But once I did, it was smooth sailing from then on out.

I love how it easy it was to create these loose, romantic tendrils framing my face – the perfect finishing touch to my bohemian style. And I can’t wait to try it out again for a head full of curls!

This style only takes me a few moments in the morning to recreate. And you can bet I’ll be rocking it throughout this spring and summer.

Goddess Twists Hair Tutorial + Motions Hair Care Product Review

I’m pretty low-maintenance when it comes to hair care and styling, but several of you have asked how I achieve one of my favorite hairstyles as of late: Goddess Twists. When the lovely folks at Motions sent me a HUGE batch of products to test drive, I figured it would be the perfect excuse for me to get off my duff and give you a guys another hair tutorial.

This hairstyle is super quick and low-maintenance and is perfect for hot, humid summer days when you just don’t feel like doing much to your hair. The best part is that it takes zero braiding skills, since the hair is just two-strand flat-twisted. I did this style on freshly washed and blow-dried hair, and here’s a quick rundown of the products I used:

Overall, I was very pleased with these products, especially the pre-wash detangling buter and the heat styler. Those two products will most definitely be added to my regular hair care rotation as they made detangling and blow-drying my kinky/coily natural hair a breeze!
