Leave it to yours truly to catch the flu in the middle of July!  After spending the entire weekend wrapped in a Snuggie and nursing a bottomless mug of theraflu, I’m finally getting back into the swing of things.  Above are a few pics I took during an afternoon stroll in the meatpacking district.  Those cobblestone streets can be torturous on a girl’s fancy footwear (not to mention the risk of twisting one’s ankles), so I opted to tuck my work heels into my bag and slide into a pair of easy flats instead.

Since the 4th of July falls oh-so-inconveniently on Wednesday this year, Eric and I decided to sneak in a little weekend getaway to Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.  It was so nice to relax on the water, catch some sun, and gorge on delicious seafood.  Speaking of seafood… check out the clambake I ordered:

Yep, that definitely went down.  Eating a whole lobster used to give me pause, but YouTube has definitely been my friend in helping me conquer the crustacean.  This video in particular gives my favorite no-frills, quick-and-dirty rundown on how to de-shell a lobster like a champ.  Enjoy!

Yesterday was the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, and today it’s The Highline.  It seems like I’ve been strolling all over the city lately… not that I’m complaining.  To the contrary, exploring different neighborhoods and soaking in the sights is one of my favorite past times.  I’m enjoying it while I can before it gets too hot and humid to do anything other than hole up in the apartment with the AC blasting.
