Today was my first day back at work, and I’m still completely jetlagged.  Thank goodness for caffeine, or I seriously would’ve fallen asleep during that conference call.

I’m off now to get some shut-eye, but I wanted to leave you all with some pics of what I wore for a romantic stroll through the botanical gardens in Madrid.  As cute as my glittery little flats were, my poor little tootsies were just about done by the end of the day.

Word to the wise: if your shoes lack arch support, slide in a pair of orthotic inserts.  I have several pairs that I switch in and out of various shoes, but I of course forgot to pack them for this trip.  DOH!

P.S.  If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times… don’t miss out on your chance to win a $25 gift certificate from my SkinCareRX giveaway!

I just flew in from Madrid last night… and boy are my arms tired!

Ok, I’ll stop with the bad jokes now.  I just couldn’t help myself.  I had a wonderful time while I was away on vacation (full recap and packing list coming shortly), but I definitely missed blogging while I was gone.  Apologies for not queuing up some posts ahead of time, but I was super-duper busy with work and errands right up until the last minute.  I actually intended to post while I was away, but between too many siestas and sangrias… well you get the picture!

Anyway, it’s good to be back!

Closet Confection: Flower Child

{Express Tee, Vintage/Thrifted 70s Wrap Skirt, Jessica Simpson ‘Dany’ Platforms}

I picked up this amazing skirt at No Relation Vintage for just $8 a few months ago, and I  was waiting for the perfect sunny spring day to wear it.  This outfit pretty much put itself together.  Since I wanted the skirt to be the focus, I just added a plain white t-shirt (although I think it would look equally smashing with a halter top once things really start to heat up), and the outfit pretty much required me to wear a pair of sky high platforms.  I find that the right shoe is key to preventing below-knee length skirts from looking matronly.
