J'Aime Mon Carre: Hermes Shows Us How to Tie a Knot

ilovemyscarf

Hello lovelies,

Looking for a quick and easy way to spice up your wardrobe?  Then you should definitely check out the new Hermes website: J’Aime Mon Carre (I Love My Scarf).  The site showcases street style photos of ladies from NYC, Paris, London and Tokyo sporting the company’s iconic accessory.

As luck would have it, I recently went on a thrift store binge to stock up on vintage silk scarves.   This site has given me tons of ideas on how to rock my new finds.

While I can’t say that I’ll be splurging on an Hermes scarf any time soon, eBay does have some pretty tempting options for those who’d like to take the plunge without breaking the bank.

When: Sunday, June 27th, 2010

Where: Madison Square Park

What: Dress ($50 Armani Exchange summer sale), shoes ($40 Nine West via Shoe Woo), bangle bracelet and ring (Forever 21), leather bracelets (Afro Punk Festival)

Another scorching day where I found myself running from air conditioned building to air conditioned building. But it’s all good since it makes getting dressed a snap.  As I mentioned before, I have a penchant for halter dresses (actually, any type of dress really).  I’ve been adding to my collection recently, so you’ll definitely spot a trend on Closet Confections this summer.

Speaking of adding to my collection, I went way overboard at the Armani Exchange summer sale.  AX is another one of those stores where I rarely shop, but stick a huge 50% off sign out front, and I’m all over it!

If you haven’t already, check it out before it’s over.  I think I’ve had my fill, but I have been eyeing this adorable maxi dress

Forever 21 Grand Opening in Times Square

Forever21_TimesSquare_Opening

Whoa Nelly… This sucker is huge!

Like any real New Yorker, I absolutely loathe Times Square.  But that didn’t stop me from braving the crowds this morning to head to the Grand Opening of this 90,000 square foot behemoth.

Like a giddy teen, I happily scoured 3 massive floors of cheap, girly goodness. After being handed a goody bag and a free gift card, all of us shoppers were greeted by dozens of screaming, cheering F21 staffers as we streamed into the store.

As I descended the escalator, I was immediately overwhelmed with the sheer size of it all.  Luckily, everything was meticulously organized, and the store clerks were quick to refold and restock items quicker than you could blink. Some cool new additions that I noticed were a shoe salon in the basement along with a cosmetics section where they served up free manicures to customers.

2 hours and 3 fitting room trips later, I left the store unscathed and with the following bounty in hand:

The best part is that between my free gift card and F21’s bargain basement prices, I barely put a ding in my wallet!
