NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD
White/black leather platform sandal with yellow and pink karung platform and heel, 5.5″ heel with platform
It’s no secret that I’m a SHOE ADDICT! I love clothes in general, but there’s just something about a fantastic pair of shoes that’s just… magical. To me, a well-made shoe can be something like a work of art. My favorite spots in the city for browsing seriously epic creations are Barney’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Sak’s Fifth Avenue, and Jeffrey. I recently took a stroll through Bergdorf’s to see the new spring collections, and my breath was nearly taken away.
Since I wasn’t able to sneak any pics in the store, I snagged a catalog and compiled a few of my favorites after the jump.
WARNING: SERIOUS SHOE PORN TO FOLLOW!
TABITHA SIMMONS
Multicolor embroidered leather double ankle-strap platform sandal, 4.5″ heel with platform.
Turquoise/blue suede double ankle-strap platform sandal, 4.5″ heel with platform.
Multicolor floral-print silk double ankle-strap platform sandal, 4.5″ heel with platform.
I only discovered Tabitha Simmons about a year ago, but she has quickly risen to the top of my list of favorite shoe designers. I kid you not when I say that I wanted to take home all three of the fabulous heels!
GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI
Fuchsia/light pink suede platform sandal, 6″ heel with platform. Also available in royal blue/aqua.
Giuseppe Zanotti is another one of my favs (and I’m still reeling over the gorgeous pair of sandals that I scored last year for just $70 at Century 21). These shoes are full of so much girly perfection that I can hardly contain myself.
CHANEL
White lambskin “Mermaid” ankle boot with black patent zigzag detail and black shell-inspired heel.
I’ve been contemplating splurging on a pair of classic Chanel flats for a while now. But I gotta be honest… these seem WAY more fun!
ASH
Yellow, orange or stone suede “Bowie” sneaker with canvas, 3″ heel. Also available in black or grey.
I’ll admit that these are somewhat of a departure from my usual aesthetic, but I’ve seen several girls bouncing around the city in these, and they look kinda cool. I’m currently on the hunt for a cheap-y version to test out for myself.
ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
Gold metallic python platform wedge sandal, 5.5″ heel with platform. Also available with black suede straps.
These sandals are definitely the stuff that dreams are made of. If I owned these, I’m not even sure that I’d actually wear them for fear of disturbing their beauty. Trust me, they’re even more gorgeous in person!
PRADA
Red/white/black patent leather flame wedge sandal, 4.5″ heel.
Green/ivory/black patent leather wedge with carlight and rosette-and-jewel detail
I gotta say… these shoes are pretty bad@$$. It would definitely take a lot of moxie to pull these off, but I’m up for the challenge!
CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN
Neon yellow patent leather cap-toe ankle-strap pump with clear PVC, 4.75″ heel. Also available in black suede with clear PVC.
It took A LOT of restraint not to take these home with me. I tried the black suede version, and they were sexy-as-all-get-out!
VALENTINO
Black lace espadrille. Also available in white.
While I’m usually partial to high heels… there’s always been a soft spot in my heart for delicate, feminine flats. The lacy detail on these espadrilles is simply divine.
OSCAR DE LA RENTA
Black mesh “Ottavia” bootie with Swarovski crystal embellishment, 4″ heel.
A gal couldn’t help but have a good time in these rocker-chick booties. Lately, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of mesh ankle boots… so don’t be surprised if you see a pair in a different incarnation on my feet soon!
The Oscar de la Renta’s are gorgeous!
Have you been to the Shoe Museum in Toronto yet?
No, but I will have to check it out now thar I know it exists!
