Closet Confection: Take Five!

2010_1111_outfit1

When: Thursday, November 11th, 2010

Where: Work + The Green Table @ Chelsea Market

What: Jacket (French Connection), sweater (Tommy Hilfiger), polka dot blouse (H&M), skirt (Banana Republic), tights (Urban Outfitters), shoes (Via Spiga)

Is anyone else bummed because they didn’t get Veteran’s Day off yesterday?

To cheer myself up for having to drag myself out of bed and into the office, I decided to wear a bright pink sweater.  And of course, the outfit wouldn’t have been complete without polka dots… and a big ‘ol floppy bow… and my favorite colorful tweed jacket.

Since Eric had the day off (lucky duck!), I guilted him into meeting me after work to help take my outfit photos.

He was a trooper about it.  But in exchange, I had to bribe him with NYC’s most delicious brownies from Fat Witch Bakery.  YUM!

This outfit is one of my favorites – the combination of colors and patterns is so chic. I need to get a blouse like that – polka dots & a bow? Yes, please!

Thanks! I think this is one of my favs too.

You look fabulous!!! This has been a good week for you and outfits. I like “Fall Kendra”. She is ever so stylish. The pink sweater and the dotted blouse are so fun.

    • ClosetConfections November 12, 2010 at 11:50 am

Thanks! You’d better enjoy “Fall Kendra” while you can, because “Winter Kendra” looks like a gigantic marshmallow walking around in Uggs and the puffiest down jacket you can imagine, lol.

That bow is so cute! I’ve tried doing that with a thin scarf once, but it didn’t look nearly as cute on me! 🙂

    • ClosetConfections November 12, 2010 at 11:48 am

Yeah, I’ve tried it with a scarf once too. Definitely not the same since I could never get it to lay correctly.

You look quite nice in the pink. http://idontwearjeans.blogspot.com/

Why thank you. It’s one of my favorite colors.

I love the pop of color the pink gives to the outfit! I also love how you styled the scarf into a bow…because I did the exact same thing myself this week! 🙂 Love the whole overall look!

Thanks. It felt a little kooky at first, but I love how it all came together.

      • grace December 22, 2010 at 6:43 pm

kooky is good! I’m a big fan of kooky.

Isn’t it crazy how a bright color or fun print can change your mood? Love the sweater and the polka dot blouse!

Love the black and white with the pop of pink! And the polka dot blouse is so beautiful. 🙂

  • Alex November 12, 2010 at 7:54 pm

Another look that I absolutely adore. Hot pink looks great on you and I love love the blouse sticking out of your sweater at the neckline! You’re making me want to go conduct another search for my pink sweater, it’s still buried in winter clothing storage somewhere.

    • ClosetConfections November 13, 2010 at 12:10 am

Pink is one of my favorite colors, so I always welcome any chance to wear it. Good luck locating your sweater!

I think only Veteran’s should get the day off…..everyone else should HAVE to work as a thank you to those who serve our country. I’m not sure why that makes sense (what do the Vets get out of our going to work), but at the time I decided it, the idea seemed logical! Love your outfit – and huge fan of how you’ve been interacting with your numbers. I like how you’re spicing things up!

    • ClosetConfections November 13, 2010 at 12:10 am

I can see the logic behind that, lol. I’m going to see how long I can keep this up since there’s probably only so many poses I can think of…

  • Sorcha November 12, 2010 at 8:29 pm

That top is such a great colour!

  • stylegenerator November 12, 2010 at 8:36 pm

I didn’t get the day off, I was even kind of happy I could work. 😀 Hello, I’m a workaholic. 🙂 I just wish I’d work at a place where I could wear nice clothes too.
    You look pretty 🙂

    • ClosetConfections November 13, 2010 at 12:08 am

That’s cool that you love your job that much! I actually enjoy my workplace too. I was mostly bummed because hubby had the day off and we couldn’t spend it together :-/

  • tanvii.com November 13, 2010 at 12:01 am

Another awesome outfit. Love the top and your jacket too!

  • gina November 13, 2010 at 11:47 am

I love the bright pink with the polka dots!

  • Katie November 14, 2010 at 12:19 am

i like how your number 5 matches your scarf 🙂

also, no, i was not bummed to not have veteran’s day off because i’m a measly hourly wage employee, and i need money!

love that jacket! and the whole outfit, obvs.

This is absolutely darling! I haven’t had time to do my fashion posts. Sigh. This is very inspiring though. Keep doing your thing. I may try something a little similar for work in the morning.
