2010_1227_outfit1see more at

When: Monday, December 27th, 2010

Where: Working from home during a major snowstorm!

What: Sweater (Vintage store in San Francisco), leggings (Wolford + Uniqlo… yeah, I’m layering), boots (Coach, also available here), gloves (Ugg Australia via Century 21), hat (H&M), sunglasses (Marc Jacobs via Nordstrom’s Rack), scarf (self-made), coat (Kenneth Cole via Macy’s, similar here)

Here at Closet Confections, we take our winter gear very seriously…

Ok, not so much.  But I do appreciate staying warm and cozy when it’s F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G outside.

My husband made fun of me incessantly when I first bought this hat.  He told me I looked like Don King, but he was soon eating those words when we got slammed by a blizzard.  Perhaps I did look like I had stuck a fork in an electrical socket, but at least I was warm.

To make it up to me, he let me borrow the scarf that I knit him for Christmas.  He’s really sweet like that.

Here’s me decked out in all my glory.  This was my first time taking my new snow boots out for a spin, and I have to say that I was pretty impressed.  They provide the warmth and comfort of Uggs (yes, I admit that I am a fashion blogger who wears Uggs), but they’re also waterproof.

I really wanted to make a snowman to pose with, but the wind was really gusty and snow was blowing everywhere. So as soon as we got enough good shots, I rushed back inside for hot cocoa.

Yeah, I had been looking for a while too. You can try eBay for vintage and I also saw something similar at Urban Outfitters not too long ago.

That sweater is amazing. I love the vibrant Fair Isle print. A similar sweater is on my thrifting shopping list for this weekend.

Man, I want that sweater. Wish you had written “Old Navy” underneath instead of “vintage store in San Francisco”. My dreams are dashed.

I definitely have nothing against Uggs – and you’re definitely working them! I agree with previous comments, I really wanted that sweater to be from a store that is cheap, affordable and a chain so I could have rushed out and bought my own. I can’t get over how much I absolutely LOVE it.

    • ClosetConfections December 30, 2010 at 8:48 pm

So sorry! I always feel the same way when I see cool items on other blogs only to find out they’re vintage. If it helps, I’ve seen somewhat similar items at Urban Outfitters.

  • ClosetConfections December 30, 2010 at 8:54 pm

Jealous?! Ha! You can have it (in exchange for some warmer temps).

  • Guest December 31, 2010 at 1:30 am

Stylish. I like this one. You’re working it. Not too traditional like your other styles but still sophisticated.

    • ClosetConfections December 31, 2010 at 1:54 pm

Thanks. It’s fun to switch things up every now and then.

Ugh, adooore your sweater! I’ve been looking for one with a similar pattern probably for like five years 😛 Those UGG gloves are very chic too, I might have to check them out!

don’t you just love when fashion meets function! If you must keep your head warm (and you must!) why not do so with fur!

I actually really like your boots, by the way!

I am having some serious sweater envy! SO jealous of that one!

  • Natasha January 3, 2011 at 3:56 pm
