When: Saturday, November 13th, 2010
Where: Brunch @ Peels + hangin’ out in the West Village
What: Dress (Walter), scarf ($30 Missoni via eBay), tights (Calvin Klein), jewelry (Forever 21), belt (H&M), handbag (Kenneth Cole), shoes ($23 Forever 21)
Not to be one of those boring people who has nothing more interesting to talk about than the weather, but…
It was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS this weekend!
A girl could get spoiled by not having to wear a jacket in the middle of November!
I was originally planning to wear this dress later on in the 30 for 30 challenge, but I was inspired to wear it earlier because…
It’s made by one of my favorite designers, Walter Baker, AND…
I was recently invited to his showroom (where I got to meet Walter in person) to do an early preview of his newest collection!
I’ve only been blogging since April, and I’ve never been to a designer’s showroom before. So needless to say, I was beyond excited to receive the invitation but also totally clueless about what to expect. I decided to go with my best interpretation of how a young fashion editor would dress (see last Thursday’s ensemble) and take copious notes and lots of pictures.
Stay tuned, my lovelies, for a full rundown on Walter’s latest collection by yours truly!

That is so exciting!! You look great in his dress!! Can’t wait to see the collection!
What a fantastic opportunity!!! I love those shoes. I’m kicking myself for not purchasing them when I had the chance. Maybe I should go back today…..

I almost passed these up myself, but I’m glad I went back for them!
wow, can’t wait to hear your rundown o the Walter collection and so lucky of you to be able to take part in his preview! the dress is really gorgeous on you and i love all the extra accessories. my fave is the necklace!
great job remixing!
Thanks! I did feel very lucky. This challenge has me rediscovering a lot of my old accessories. It’s been ages since I’ve worn this necklace, but I love it!
I love this combo! Love the colors, love the patterns, love the jewels, love the shoes. Told you I love it! How exciting going to the designers show room, congrats!
Thanks! 🙂
How exciting that you got invited to a designer preview!! That is so awesome!!
I also am in love with just about every element in this outfit – the Missoni scarf against the plaid dress, with the blue tights, anchored with those awesome clogs – I love how it all flows together!!
The print mix in this outfit is FANTASTIC. And the t-strap clogs are a fun update on the traditional shape. I love how the whole look is both cozy and edgy.
Thanks! This scarf was a last minute addition because it was way too warm for a jacket, but I still needed something to block the little bit of chill that was in the air. I love how it all came together though.
you look gorgeous. those those tights & shoes together…WOW!
I love the dress and scarf together paired together. Very nice!
Can’t wait to read about the Walter preview! I had never heard of him before, but after clicking on his link I think his clothes are definitely something I could get into!

Yep, colored tights are one of my wardrobe staples this time of year.
Hi Kendra! Thank you for visiting my blog! Your sweet comment made my day. I am LOVING the way you belted your scarf- totally going to steal that idea 🙂
Have a beautiful day!

It was my pleasure. I have to confess that I copied the idea from someone else first, so steal away!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a thoughtful comment! To answer your question, I did enjoy the NYC style pizzas! I totally overloaded on pizza during my trip, and after eating so many different ones, I just knew that Lombardi’s wasn’t for me. The sausage we got on our pizza was rubbery and the pizza itself was just..not as tasty as I was hoping for! I’ll have more pizza reviews soon and they will be a lot nicer, haha.
Going to a showroom sounds like lots of fun! I can’t wait to see what photos you’ll post of your experience if you get any! Beautiful use of color and print!
Stop by again soon!

Ok, I’m glad to hear that you at least got good pizza from somewhere while you were here.
That is really cool you went to a showroom. I haven’t ever been to anything fashion related.
You pull off those tights with those shoes sooo well! It’s impressive!
I loved your comment! Thanks for stopping by!
Heaven, indeed! The dress is gorgeous but the colored tights and fabulous, fabulous clogs bring it to another level of awesome!
Aren’t the clogs great? I still can’t believe they’re from F21!
This is adorable! I love how the blue tights and brown shoes coordinate with the plaid dress. And that scarf is a perfect touch. It coordinates but without being matchy matchy. Love everything!
Yeah, I was afraid of being too matchy at first, but I think the scarf helped balance it all out.
The showroom visit must have been so cool!! I love this, the scarf pattern mix with the dress is absolute genius! Excellent choice of color in tights too and those studded clogs! Totally fab!
How cute you are! I have a pair of similarly colored tights and am always afraid they’ll make my legs look heavier. You have a way of balancing your outfits in a way that is always very flattering, which is kind of the key to always being in style, I think.
Thanks! I’ve learned a few tricks over the years. 😉
NO ONE mixes patterns like you, so gorgeous. love the colors, and the shoooooeess!!! omg the shoes, cant believe they’re forever 21…
Thank you. I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with patterns lately. It opens up a whole new world of options.
love, love, love this look. the colors, the patterns- everything!!!
thank you! 🙂
