When: Thursday, October 7th, 2010
Where: Work
What: Dress ($40 Rock.Paper.Vintage), tights (H&M), velvet blazer (Banana Republic clearance sale), shoes (90% off at Kenneth Cole)
I knew this dress reminded me of something, but I just couldn’t put my finger on it…
In my defense, I did not… I repeat, I did not steal any hamburgers yesterday.
These shoes, on the other hand, were quite a steal. Some of my readers have commented on my extensive shoe collection. And it’s true, I do have quite a few pairs. But I don’t want you guys to think go around frittering all my money away on shoes.
Au contraire…
The truth is, I’m a magnet for shoe sales. They magically seek me out. And I’m not talking about talking about some hansy-pansy 15% off “sale” or a BOGO promotion at Payless. I’m talking steep price drops on quality merchandise. Whenever one creeps up, I pounce!
About 2 years ago, I was innocently walking back to my office during my lunch break when I stumbled across a Kenneth Cole store closing. All of their clearance merchandise was an additional 80% OFF! To make a long story short, I walked hobbled out of the store with more than $2000 worth of shoes (3 pairs of boots, 2 pairs of pumps, and 1 pair of sandals) for around $200. I was so laden down with bags that one of the store clerks had to help me catch a cab to drive the 3 blocks back to my office.
What can I say? They made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.

The Hamburglar LOL. I love this outfit. It’s so chic and cool.
Thanks! Luckily, I didn’t make the Harmburglar connection until AFTER I wore this outfit, lol.
