When: Friday, July 30th, 2010
Where: Dinner in the East Village + The Flying Karamazov Brothers
What: Dress (Banana Republic), shoes ($12 Irregular Choice via Daffy’s)
The dress is old news, so this post is all about the shoes. Aren’t they ridiculous yet spectacular at the same time?!
What I like about them is that from afar, they just look like a cute pair of floral shoes. It’s not until you get up close that you see how trippy they are. Now would I normally buy a pair of shoes that have pink clouds and and teddy bears dressed as angelic bunnies on them? Probably not. But at $12, how could I resist? Especially since Irregular Choice shoes typically go for at least 10 times that amount!
These were definitely an impulse buy, and I wasn’t exactly sure how I was going to pull them off. At the very least, I knew it would make me happy to look at them in my closet. But I think the solid color of the dress and minimal jewelry made it work. I even wore them to office since I didn’t have any meetings that day… even though they certainly would have been a conversation piece on a sales call.
Have you guys made any zany fashion purchases recently?
‘Nothing nearly as trippy as these awesome shoes! Oh god, I have to scroll up and look, again.
LOVE the shoes, of course they are Irregular Choice, I should have guessed 🙂 I haven’t gotten anything crazy lately, but I wish I had!
i ordered a pair of green pants from rugby. i think you have me beat though.
Good gravy. I want those shoes!!! 🙂
love those shoes!
Sorry, nothing as bats**t as those shoes recently – though I did buy a zebra-print skirt at Target recently. Still, that’s nothing compared to teddy bears dressed as angelic bunnies.
Whoah, Daffy’s! Blast from the past! I went there on my last trip to NY and walked out with this ridiculous pair of gold and black striped flats that set me back like $10. Reminds me, I should bust those out sometime soon…
Those Irregular Choice shoes are a total trip.
Yes, Daffy’s can be rather hit or miss, but I’ve managed to get some great bargains there.
Amazing shoes!!
