I scored this top during a very fruitful thrifting adventure last month, and I immediately knew I wanted to pair it with my bright yellow pumps.  I’d originally hoped to score of pair of aqua-colored jeans to complete the look. But alas, the denim gods decided not to smile upon me in my quest for candy-colored bottoms.  Never one to give up on a cute outfit, I unearthed this azul high-waist pencil skirt from the depths of my closet.  Mission accomplished!

I gotta tell you that I generally have mixed feelings about wearing shorts anywhere other than the park or the gym.  That being said, I made an exception for this outfit because the breezy fabrics and modern silhouette just made me feel oh so chic, and dare I say… sexy.

A few weeks ago, I was out for an afternoon stroll when I stumbled upon a Catherine Malandrino sample sale.  Picture throngs of women in various stages of undress clawing through racks of dresses and tops, each of them in search of that one perfect item in her size.  Yep, it was a madhouse.  But it was totally worth it, since I got to walk away with this pretty little frock for just $40!

Now if only I could’ve scored an invitation to Diddy’s White Party…
