Closet Confection: Woman of Steel

It’s been months since Smallville wrapped up, but that didn’t stop me from channeling a Superman vibe for today’s outfit. I was ready to head out the door with my regular ol’ red patent clutch when I spotted this red bandana and inspiration struck. Two minutes later, after some clever folding and a strategically placed knot*, and I had a cute new clutch ready to go. I can’t wait to try this with some of my other scarves!

Closet Confection: Birthday Girl

My birthday was last week, and I wanted to celebrate in style. So I treated myself to a new dress and set out to paint the town red (while wearing blue)!

Birthdays are a HUGE FREAKIN’ DEAL in my household, and Eric did not disappoint this year. I awoke to the sweetest b-day card ever (it almost made me cry… seriously!) and the necklace I’m wearing above. I coveted it during one of our weekend tromps around the city, and he remembered! After work, I was greeted with a dozen red roses and dinner at Per Se. We then capped the evening off with a Metropolitan Opera performance of Il Barbiere di Siviglia.

My enchanted evening, coupled with all of the wonderful birthday wishes from my friends and family, made my special day absolutely fabulous. Honestly, it was one of the best birthdays I’ve had in a while, and I am extremely grateful!
