{H&M ‘Toile de Jouy’ Dress & Straw Crossbody Bag, SCALA Straw Hat, PRADA Sunglasses, BAUBLEBAR Earrings, TABITHA SIMMONS Espadrilles}
As soon as I saw this dress hanging on the rack at H&M I just knew I had to have it. Earlier this spring I had the good fortune of perusing Dior’s pop-up shop in the meatpacking district where a similar toile print was featured heavily in the collection. I’m a gal who loves a good designer look for less, so you can only imagine how I excited I was to get my hands on this pretty little frock. I love how the print is bold, yet subtle. But what I really can’t get over is how light and airy it feels. I can already tell it’ll be my go-to piece for those hot and sticky summer days on the horizon.
I recently wore this outfit to an early dinner with the family and paired it with a simple straw hat and matching bag – both enduring summer staples – and one of my favorite pairs of espadrilles that I scooped up for a song last summer on the clearance rack.
About the Fit:
This dress is true-to-size and has a bit of elastic in the waist to give it a decent amount of stretch. The straps are also adjustable, so I’d say it’s hard to go wrong with this one. The just below-the-knee length might be a little tricky for shorter gals (for reference, I’m 5’7″), but nothing a cute pair of heels (and perhaps even a trip to the tailor) can’t fix. What impressed me most is how the buttons don’t gape at the top even with my massive (to me, at least) nursing boobs. There’s even a hidden snap just above the waist for an extra bit of coverage.
