When in doubt… wear black, white and red. That’s pretty much my mantra.

Who knew that a bright yellow blazer could become such a wardrobe staple?! I bought this cheery little jacket last week, and I just can’t seem to take it off. I was a little skeptical when I tried it on in the store. But once I got home, I was amazed at how many outfits I was able to build around it.
While I still crave variety in my sartorial choices, lately I’ve been on a mission to eliminate the unnecessary fluff in my wardrobe. To that end, I tossed/donated 4 ridiculously large bags of items over the weekend and set two rules for all new purchases:
I still have a bit more purging to do, but I can’t even begin to tell you how great it feels to cut the crap and just be left with the items you love!
Am I the only one who’s been bitten by the spring cleaning bug, or are any of you cleaning out your closets as well? Also, I’d love to hear if anyone else employs any neat tricks or guidelines for justifying new purchases.

Hey Gang!
Not to encourage frivolous spending, but…
Zara is having a pretty friggin’ awesome sale right now!
After searching high and low for a long plaid vintage skirt, I struck gold when I found this little number for $40 marked down from $80. I love it so much that I’ve worn it twice in the last week: Once with a burgundy turtleneck and again as you see it here.
Excuse me as I enjoy my retro moment.
