Closet Confection: Bottom of the Ninth

olive wrap dress, leopard print blouse, brown tights, tan ankle booties, gold clutch

When: Tuesday, February 8th, 2010

Where: Wouldn’t you like to know…

What: Dress (Banana Republic), blouse (Michael Kors via Bloomingdale’s), clutch (Forever 21), shoes (BCBG via Loehmann’s)

Never one to shy away from showing a little leg, I always feel uber-sexy whenever I wear this dress. But the big secret is that it’s just as soft and cozy as any of my t-shirts!

I don’t know about any of you ladies who are also remixing out there, but this time around the 30 for 30 challenge seems a lot less daunting.  I really think it has a lot to do with the way I adjusted my shopping habits after the first time I participated.

Since then, I’ve really been trying to think of multiple ways I can wear an item when I purchase it.  As soon as I buy something new, I immediately go home and try to style at least 3-5 outfits around it with items I already own.  If I find that I can’t, then back it goes (this is the part where a good return policy is key!).  I’ve also gone through my closet and purged soooooo many items that no longer suit my needs.

And by purge, I mean they’re out of my closet and safely nestled into shopping bags until I figure out what to do with them.  I’m torn between having a blog sale, putting things up on ebay, or just taking them to Beacon’s Closet.  Decisions, decisions…

Closet Confection: On the Six

pink chiffon dress, black blazer, black wolford tights, black vince camuto ankle boots, marc jacobs sunglasses

When: Monday, Feburary 7th, 2011

Where: Work

What: Dress (H&M), blazer (H&M), tights (Wolford), shoes (Vince Camuto), sunglasses (Marc Jacobs)

To keep the theme going with the title of today’s post, I went out of my way to catch the 6 train to work this morning.  Ok, not really.  It would have been hard trying to explain to my boss why I was a twenty minutes late to work.  But to my credit, I did take the 5 train, which is kinda like the 6…  except it’s express and gets me to work on time.

I’m sure J-Lo would agree.

Closet Confection: Four Your Eyes Only

olive shawl neck sweater, grey pleated skirt, brown braided belt, grey sweater tights, vince camuto peep toe booties

When: Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

Where: Work

What: Sweater (J. Crew), skirt (Forever 21), belt (hand-me-down), tights (???), shoes (Vince Camuto via Loehmann’s), sunglasses (Moschino via Loehmann’s)

Guys, I’m seriously plotting a move to Florida… or better yet, Hawaii.

Despite Puxatawney Phil’s recent prediction, the spring still seems so far from grasp.  Ahhh… but what can one do, other than put on a smile (through chattering teeth) and press on?

Throwing on a cozy sweater and nubby sweater tights does help some.

And the little foot warmer I keep under my desk at the office helps a lot!

Oh, and Swiss Miss hot cocoa!  With marshmallows!  That does wonders!

Ok, I guess winter isn’t all bad.

In other news:  Since I’m always trudging around in snow boots these days and changing my shoes at work anyway, I decided to be totally impractical and include peep toes in my 30 for 30 challenge.  This was a great idea in theory, however I didn’t factor in having to clear a little path between myself and my camera while taking outfit photos.  Doh!
