Closet Confection: Sunny Side Up

Where: Work + Holiday Dinner w/ Co-Workers

What: Blazer (H&M), dress (Strawberry), tights (???), shoes (Nine West)

I hate eggs (unless they’re baked into a chocolate cake), and the thought of eating them sunny side up kind of grosses me out.  However, I have absolutely no problem wearing a pair of sunny yellow tights to work in the dead of winner…

‘Cuz that’s how I roll.

By now, all of that lovely snow in the background has melted (or turned into an unrecognizable sooty grey slush) and I have to admit I kind of miss it. Besides adding to the scenery, it made a nice icy barrier to nosy onlookers as I snapped photos of myself outside.

What: Dress (Old Navy), tights (Forever 21), boots (Givenchy via eBay), shawl (Forever 21), knit headband (street vendor)

Excuse the time warp… I mean, this outfit is just sooooo last year.  Silly me left both of my SD cards at work over the long weekend, so I’m playing catch-up on a few outfit posts.  Ok, now that we’ve gotten that tiny bit of house-keeping out of the way, it’s on to the good stuff!

No matter what variation of this dress I wear, I always seem to channel some fictional character.  First a pilgrim, and now Catwoman.  Oh wait… pilgrims are real.  I always get them confused with leprechauns (who aren’t real, by the way).  Whatever. American History was never my strongest subject in school.  However, I can differentiate an equation like nobody’s business.  Well, at least I could back in college.  But I can calculate a good tip in a restaurant without using a calculator.  That should count for something, right?

Ordinarily, this would be the part where I show off the dazzling outfit that I wore on New Year’s Eve…

Unfortunately, I was super-duper tired last Friday and wound up going to bed at 10:35.  I didn’t even have enough energy to stay up late and watch the ball drop.  Oh well, at least 2011 is off to a well-rested start.
