Hester Street Fair Recap

hester street fair

This past Saturday, I made my first trip to the Hester Street Fair located in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a cool little diversion.  They had a great selection of vendors at various pricepoints.  And all of the booths were nicely laid out, without being overly crowded.

This best part (at least in my book) is that I walked away with two dresses for only $25.  Check ‘em out:

I’m even wearing the one on the right as I type this review!

There were also some very cool jewelry designers onsite, including Corvis Noir, Rebel Chic, and Fancy Sexy Me. I found myself dropping several hints to hubby as we perused the aisles.

Somehow, I think they may have fallen on deaf ears…

Coach Collectibles Launch

Even though I was dead tired from a long day on the grind, I had a phenomenal time at the Coach Collectibles Launch yesterday evening.  Coach recently picked 4 bloggers (Krystal of What Is Reality Anyway, Emily of Cupcakes & Cashmere, Karla of Karla’s Closet, and Kelly of The Glamourai) to each design a limited edition bag for the collection.

All 4 of these ladies have really great blogs (I really love The Glamourai and Karla’s Closet in particular), so it was cool to actually see them in person.  I also ran into another one of my favorite bloggers, Jessica from WhatIWore.  Trust me, they are all every bit as lovely offline as they are online!

Unfortunately, my husband photographer had the night off.  So I had to rely on a random stranger (thanks whoever you are) to snap a quick pick of me holding Krystal’s Fringe Shoulder Bag:

Although it was extremely tempting, I did not splurge on a bag last night.  But a part of me thinks that Kelly’s Drawstring Pouch would make a wonderful addition to my collection as I am seriously handbag challenged.  Let’s just hope they don’t run out!

Sassy City Chicks Fashion Bash Recap

Sassy Chicks Fashion Bash

Wow! Let’s just say that I was not expecting to walk away with this much stuff last Thursday.  After my 1-month hiatus can we say “shopping binge much”?

I have to say that some of the designers were a bit overpriced for what they were offering (IMO). But all in all, I am very pleased with my purchases.  At $150, I didn’t break the bank too badly for the following:

  • 3 dresses
  • 1 romper
  • 1 necklace
  • 1 super-dope wrap sweater that was way too cute to post a picture of it laying on my coffee table, so you’ll just have to wait until I wear it in another post!

There were some pretty cool jewelry designers in attendance.  But my focus was on summer dresses.  If it wasn’t for my preset spending budget, this ring may have made the cut:

No worries, because I shall return!  Although next time, I think I’ll skip the “goodie bag” which was kind of sparse.

Luckily, the free booze, great DJ, and energetic buzz of other fashionistas more than made up for it.  Too bad this event only happens once a year in NYC.  Although I have been eyeing Shecky’s Girls Night Out
