Since it’s Thanksgiving, and I know you guys need to get back to your turkeys (and I need to start cookin’), I’ll keep this post short and sweet.

This year, I’m thankful for my wonderful husband (who encouraged me to start this blog) and our family and friends for loving and supporting us.  I’m also grateful for all of my awesome readers.  I appreciate every single comment, email, and tweet that you send my way.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Have a wonderful, fabulous, super fantastic Thanksgiving!

Closet Confection: The Eleventh Hour

2010_1117_outfit4

When: Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

Where: The usual

What: Cardigan (H&M), dress (Ben Sherman via Daffy’s), socks (Tommy Hilfiger via Century 21), boots (thrifted via Beacon’s Closet), hat/scarf combo (H&M years ago), cape ($32 Forever 21), cameo necklace (H&M)

Watch out!  The caped crusader strikes again!

Here’s one of the things I love about this time of year: Even if I’m not so thrilled with my outfit, I can compensate by wearing really fun outerwear.

I have a semi-obsession with cold weather accessories.  This time of year, I’d usually be out stocking up on knit berets, woolen scarves and fuzzy mittens. Unfortunately, this 30 day shopping ban has put the kibosh on all such activity.

So, I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands… literally…

I’m learning how to knit!

Because I’m stubborn and refuse to take a class, I’m trying to teach myself using the online tutorials at www.lionbrand.com.  I’ll be honest, it’s been going pretty slowly. I’m  also a little embarrassed to admit that it took me two hours and several dozen times watching and rewinding the same 45-second video clip to even learn how to cast-on properly.

But like I told you guys yesterday, I’m no quitter.  And I’m determined to knit myself a scarf by the end of this challenge.  Wish me luck!

2010_1116_outfit1

When: Tuesday, November 17th, 2010

Where: Work

What: Dress ($40 H&M), rain jacket ($55 Michael Kors via eBay), sequin beret (H&M), belt (H&M), tights (Trina Turk for Hue), shoes (Via Spiga)

Hey Gang!

I’ve got good news and bad news…

2010_1116_outfit3

The good news is that I made it 1/10 of the way through the 30 for 30 challenge.

2010_1116_outfit2

The bad news is that I’m officially calling it quits.  I’m getting bored with these clothes, and I want to wear something new.  Besides, there are just too many holiday parties (and holiday sales) coming up, and I feel deprived.

JUST KIDDING!

What?  You didn’t think I was a quitter did you?  A loser, maybe (especially at sports or other activities that require hand-eye coordination), but never a quitter.

Hey, I was the kid who squeaked by with a passing grade in her elementary school gym class simply by dangling at the end of the rope and hanging on for dear life because she knew there was no chance in heck that she’d be able to pull herself all the way to the top.

What can I say, I have the tenacity of a bulldog and the upper body strength of a… Well, I can’t think of any animals with weak upper body strength, but you get the picture.

So yes.  I’m am forging on with the challenge and will emerge victorious!
