In partnership with Zappos, I styled my Paige jeans and Freebird boots for a cozy holiday look (you can take a peak at how I styled them for fall here).

Between attending various Christmas parties and getting work-related tasks wrapped up before vacation, things can get extremely hectic this time of year. This outfit was perfect for a day of power-shopping around the city as I tried to get all of my holiday gifts taken care of in one go. These ‘Smoke’ ankle booties from Freebird held their own while pounding the Manhattan pavement, and  my ‘Skyline’ skinnies from Paige have held their shape nicely after multiple wearings over the past month.

When the temps took a nosedive recently, I immediately went back to the Zappos website and zeroed in on this Calvin Klein  maxi coat.  With their fast and free shipping, it arrived just in time for the cold snap  and makes me feel like I’m wrapped in a warm (but stylish!) bathrobe.

I’m happy to report that most of my Christmas shopping is DONE!  But for those of you still on the hunt for the perfect gift, I highly recommend you check out the holiday gift guide from Zappos. They’ve got great ideas for stocking stuffers and a huge selection of options under $50 and $100.

Closet Confection: If It Ain’t Broke… {My New Favorite Outfit}

Contrary to what my blog may have you believe, when I find an outfit I love, I tend to wear it into the ground. This is the third time I’ve worn this outfit in the past two weeks, and I’ve yet to grow tired of it.  The first time was when I hosted a social media seminar in front of a group of business owners. I had my outfit all planned out the night before but forgot that these shoes were in the shop!  So, of course I needed a do-over with the proper footwear. The second time was to review a proposal with a potential new client (good news, I nailed it!). This last time was because I woke up late and needed to get dressed really quickly. I figured if ain’t broke, then don’t try to fix it. I was also pretty stoked to add my new Miu Miu belt that I mentioned in my last post.

Just curious – do you guys tend to wear the same outfit on repeat, or do you prefer to switch things up?

Closet Confection: Saturday in the Park

I woke up early on Saturday morning to grab breakfast on-the-go before trekking to the Greenwich Village Goodwill to try and snag a few bargains during their weekly window sale.  I was hoping to take home a gorgeous Burberry scarf (new with tags!) that I’d spotted a few days before for just $35, but another prudent shopper snatched it up before I had the chance.  Oh well, all’s fair in love and bargains! In any case, I was able to walk away with a pair of mint-condition Stuart Weizman boots as well as a patent leather Miu Miu belt that still had the tags on it. Not too shabby, right?

Before heading home, I swung by Washington Square Park to snap a few pics with my camera and tripod.  I’ve visited this park for years, but I’d never been there this early in the morning and had no idea I’d be in for such a treat!  The park was lightly abuzz with joggers and young families taking their morning stroll, and I even spotted a bride and groom snapping wedding photos on the lawn.  The best part had to be the squirrels – I never knew they could be so friendly.  They would scurry on up to you and eat right out of your hands if you let them. One even tried to climb in my purse!  I also spent at least 10 minutes watching the “pigeon whisperer”. I’m not sure what sort of magic skills this man possessed, but he was able to beckon the birds to him at will just by calling them. I’ve seen people do this with bird seeds and breadcrumbs but never with just the sound of their voice.  It was pretty cool to watch.

Fall in NYC has been so picture perfect and ideal lately, and I’ve been soaking up every minute of it.  Thanks for stopping  by and sharing it with me!
