Furthering my education in menswear, Eric informed me that this particular blue and red stripe pattern on my new necklace is properly called a household division stripe… something to do with the uniforms worn in the British armed forces.  After receiving this new tidbit of knowledge, I suggested he let me borrow his matching watch.  He happily obliged, and my outfit was complete.

Like every good New Yorker,  I have more than my fair share of black jackets.  This one felt special because of the bow on the belt and the funnel neck collar, and I love how it looks a little more posh than your standard black trench.

Today was one of those days when I was running behind schedule and didn’t have a lot of time to fuss around while getting dressed.  It’s mornings like these when I’m grateful for the simple and easy to mix-and-match pieces in my wardrobe.  I have a slight obsession with silky tie-neck blouses, and they’ve never let me down when paired with a not-so-basic black skirt.  I put this entire outfit together in under 5 minutes, and off to work I went.  Not too shabby, if I do say so myself!
