When: Thursday, December 2nd, 2010
Where: Work
What: Coat (Forever 21, years ago), hat & scarf (self-made!), shirt (vintage & thrifted), skirt (Club Monaco), sweater tights (H&M), boots (Steve Madden)
Pardon me for not removing my jacket, but it was friggin’ COLD when I took these photos. There was a really strong wind coming by, and my fingers and face were so numb that I could barely stand it. Whoa Nelly!
A while back I told you guys that I was taking up knitting since I wasn’t allowed to shop during the 30 for 30 Challenge. Well, I’m happy to report that not only did I finish the original scarf I was working on, but I also made this hat and tunnel scarf as well!
A big piece of advice for any of you who would like to take up knitting but aren’t very crafty or just don’t have the patience…
Invest in a knitting loom!
I got the idea from this post on What I Wore, and I’m so glad that I did. The scarf that I made knitting with needles took me two whole weeks to finish, whereas this hat and tunnel scarf only took me a weekend. Talk about a timesaver!
Unfortunately, I overestimated the size of my head so the hat’s a little floppier than I intended, but I’m still sooooo proud of myself!
I see lots of cozy hats and scarves in my future this winter…
