I know, I know… this dress takes animal prints to an extreme, but I love it!  Since my dress makes a pretty bold statement on its own, I decided to go with basic black for the rest of my ensemble.

As much as I love this dress, the real star of this outfit has to be my 3.1 Phillip Lim ’31-Hour’ handbag.  It’s befitting moniker is derived from the fact that it’s designed for those who can fit 31 hours into one day.  As a busy gal who’s always on the go, I definitely have a soft spot for bags that fit all of my essentials (plus a laptop and an extra pair of shoes) but still look polished. This bag fits the bill and then some.   I caught it on sale late last fall, but somehow it’s only made the briefest of appearances on the blog since then (pinky swear that I wasn’t purposely holding out on you guys!).

While it often gets overshadowed by it’s more popular sibling, the Pashli, I actually like the fact that the 31-Hour isn’t as ubiquitous. It’s design is pretty understated, but I’ve honestly never gotten so many compliments on a bag before.  It comes in several colorways, but I fell in love with this color-blocked version that can also be worn in reverse for a different look (yay for two bags in one!).  As you can tell, I’m pretty smitten.  And I’m seriously considering shelling out for a matching 31-minute cosmetic bag which can also double as a pretty chic clutch!
