Something pretty amazing happened to me last weekend.  Eric wanted to stop inside of Bloomingdale’s to check out a shirt on our way to brunch, and I decided to peruse the handbag section while I waited for him.  Well, as I was ever-so-innocently browsing the Chloe boutique, the sales associate whispered to me conspiratorially, “You know… I think some of the bags in this section are drastically mismarked, but I’d have to sell it to at that price if you find one.”

Although I wasn’t completely convinced that her definition of “drastic” was necessarily the same as mine (especially in matters of sales discounts), I decided to kill some time by bringing a few bags up to the register for her to check.  The first one rang in at $1800, another one at $1100, and yet another at $1400.  But when she finally got to the bag that you see hanging on my arm above… well, that’s when something magical happened.  The price flashed across the cash register at a whopping… wait for it… $300!

As you can imagine, I scooped that sucker up quicker than you can say Jack Robinson, and the rest is history.

{Forever 21 Dress + Blazer (there’s also a coordinating dress & skirt!), Zara Heels (similar),  Prada Baroque Sunglasses (similar)}

I spotted this jacket on my recent trip to Chicago and couldn’t get it out of my head.  It’s extremely good quality for a Forever 21 purchase, and it also has the cutest matching skirt and dress in the same pattern!  I definitely feel like I got a lot of bang for my buck (i.e., I’ve worn this jacket thrice already since I got it).  So, in answer to all of your burning questions regarding this gem of a find:

  1. Yes, I also have it in red!
  2. Yes, I do have the matching dress (but only in 1 color… I do occasionally practice restraint)!
  3. No, I do not have the matching skirt (again… restraint people)!
  4. Yes, I recognize my overuse of exclamation points in this post, but I’m really excited! Like really excited!

The temps have started to cool off a bit, and I’ve taken a shine to breaking out some of my fall blazers and cardigans.  I went a little overboard at Zara’s end-of-season sale, and now I have an entire wardrobe full of these cute little knit “bladigans“.  I plan to put them all to good use in the coming months… and I’m even stalking a few ebay auctions in the hopes of scoring a vintage Chanel brooch to complete the look.  Wish me luck!
