Yessir, it’s time for another 30-day outfit roundup featuring just 10 items of clothing. This time around, I decided to give myself a little more leeway with shoes and accessories. In case you missed the first go ’round, here’s a few tips on how you can create your own 10-item capsule wardrobe:
- Pick your favorite pair of jeans. I went with bright red skinnies to switch things up a bit.
- Choose a color scheme.
- Pick 3 additional bottoms (pants, skirts, shorts, whatever floats your boat).
- Pick out a fabulous dress that can be worn different ways. Last time I chose a trench dress, and this time around I went with a rainbow-colored shirtdress.
- Toss in a cardigan or blazer (or two).
- Last, but not least, choose 3-4 tops that match with all of your bottoms.
One final note: go crazy with accessories, if you want! Scarves and belts can be total game changers.

Love all of this! Would work perfectly for packing lightly, too.
My favorite is the 1st picture in the last row! Right up my alley.
Thanks. It was hard for me to pick a fav, but I really liked the red jeans and striped tee.
this post always makes me so happy!! it reassures me that i can have plenty of options with a few good pieces.
Glad you enjoyed it! And it’s so true. Better to have a few good versatile pieces than lots of junk.
Nifty idea! And well executed 🙂
why, thank you! 🙂
It’s amazing how much versatility you have out of just a few pieces. This is definitely inspiring me to play around and remix clothes I already have.
Pretty cool, right? I’ll have to remember this the next time I complain about not having anything to wear, lol.
Absolutely! I may wind up using this as my packing list for Christmas vacay.
This is so great! Thank you for this!! 🙂 I came here through Lucky Inner Circle – and I’m following you on all your platforms now.
You are very welcome! Thanks for stepping by. 🙂
I love all of these outfits! It is so great what you did with just 10 pieces! Awesome!
Ahh seeing your Prabal Gurung top has made me spend loads on ebay ahah, I don’t think he sells in the UK, and his designs are so cute, that I just had to get some <3
Sorry, lol! 🙂 Hope you enjoy your pieces.
Are you a wizard? These posts completely blow my mind every time. Perfection!!!
Adorable, and very well curated!! I cannot seem to do this for myself!
Love this post. I am definitely going to attempt this. Will force me to wear what I have and stop shopping! lol 🙂
You have a gift for putting together such varied outfits! Thank you for your inspiring posts.
you’re welcome, and thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Love your site. Can you provide details on the leopard clutch?
I purchased it from Asos.com back in 2011, and unfortunately it’s no longer available. I’ll let you know if I spot something similar. I did a quick search but couldn’t find anything this size at a reasonable price, bur you might be able to find a smaller bag.
Thanks for the prompt response.
I love your 10-pc capsule wardrobes! My favorite thing about them is you don’t choose all black and grey, like most websites. You are very good about picking pops of color. I am planning to visit Europe for the first time this fall and I will be trying to build a 10-pc wardrobe of my own. So far I have one pair of jeans and grass green skirt and a periwinkle blue sleeveless blouse that all look nice together. Yippee! Plus, since I know I’ll only need 10 pcs, I don’t feel so bad if I find something that fits great but is a little expensive. Thanks for making this feel so do-able.
You are very welcome. Have a fun and safe trip!
Just saw this via Pinterest and LOVE it! Can you tell me where you got the white shirt – it’s a great length for tucking in and wearing over leggings!
Glad you enjoyed this post. The write shirt is from Uniqlo.

Ps did you do a summer version? Am finding a capsule wardrobe much harder during summer because you can’t layer as much…
No, I haven’t done a summer version yet. But I’ll get to it when I do my wardrobe switch in a few months.
