Last week, Eric and I set off for a sun-filled trip to visit his family in Florida followed by a quick road trip to New Orleans. Above are a few pics we took around our hotel and at a nearby beach. The water was still way to cold for me to get in much past my ankles, so this breezy little trapeze dress suited me just fine. I’m a firm believer in traveling light, so a few dresses, a couple of pairs of sandals, and mounds of accessories to help switch things up were all I needed to jet set in style.
Hey Lady,
I really dig your style and find your fashion posts inspirational. I’d like to think that I, too, could do a great job mixing high/low retailers, but I feel like I’m hindered by my size/proportions. While I can literally fit into a size L Forever 21 dress, the dress waists are usually too high and the length is inappropriately short for a woman my age (sunny side of 30). Once in a while I’ll find a gem in their Love 21 line, but usually that line is under designed and not as cute as their teeny bopper stuff. If it’s not too personal, would you mind sharing your dress size and height?
I know exactly what you mean. I usually wear a L at stores like F21 and H&M, and my current dress size is a pretty solid 10 (with an occasional 8 or 12 mixed in there). I’m 5’7, but I have a somewhat high waist and short torso. Oddly enough, dresses with petite proportions tend to fit my body better (aside from the length), and I usually have to get my non-empire waist dresses taken up in the shoulder for a better fit.
Wow, we’re about the same size. Thanks for replying and happy shopping!
It looks so pretty out there!! XO Rebecca
