{H&M Infinity Scarf (similar), Guess Coat via Burlington Coat Factory, Brooks Brothers Shirt, Old Navy Jeans, J. Crew MacAlister Ankle Boots}
When it comes to getting dressed, they say you can never go wrong with the classiscs… but even those need a bit of updating from time-to-time. Today’s outfit is filled with classic pieces that each have their own little twist to help keep things fresh. Take this shirt, for instance. I’ve kept a similar pink and white striped oxford top from Ralph Lauren in my wardrobe for many years (as evidenced here and here), so I was immediately drawn to this peplum version that I spied hanging on the clearance rack at Brooks Brothers. I love that I can wear it untucked with a pair of jeans without it looking sloppy or shapeless.
Speaking of jeans… dark-rinse skinnies are pretty much a staple in my closet, but this particular pair is special due to the addition of little swiss dots. And lastly, even my basic wool peacoat has a bit of an update. You may recall seeing it in one of my recent posts, but what you may not have noticed is that I’ve since swapped out the black plastic buttons for spiffier looking brass fastenings. I’ve been meaning to switch them out for quite some time (seriously, I must have purchased these buttons almost two years ago!), but I only got around to it last weekend. Oh well, better late than never!
Love the shoes and the scarf together! You look super cute.
