When: Saturday, January 14th, 2011
Where: Brunch @ Community Food & Juice + Hangin’ around my old college campus
What: Jacket (Miss Sixty via Burlington Coat Factory), sweater (J. Crew), skirt (Banana Republic), belt (H&M), tights (Wolford), boots (Givenchy via eBay), hat (H&M), scarf (H&M), gloves (Ugg Australia via Century 21)
True Story: My husband and I met on the first day of college orientation, and we’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since. As more than a thousand students streamed out of the gymnasium, he says he noticed me and my bright pink shirt and matching bucket hat in the crowd and came over to say hi because I looked friendly.
Thank goodness I was sooooo into matching back then!
Needless to say, we have many fond memories of this place. We don’t do it nearly often enough, but my husband and I are always psyched to head uptown and visit our old college campus.
Sidebar, the statue I’m standing in front of is called Alma Mater. According to legend, the first student of each Columbia College class to find the owl would graduate Valedictorian.
Neither of us were the first to find said owl.
That is such a cute story! Years later, you are still looking fabulous in front of the statue. 🙂
Yeah, I never get tired of telling that one lol.
You are adorable!
Thanks! 😀
Oh, what a sweet story! Love your outfit: that sweater & skirt are perfect together. Love the scarf and hat, too.
AW, I love visiting my old school too! Brought tears to my eyes last I went. SO MANY MEMORIES! (sigh…) Love you writing style btw 😉

Thanks! College was the best, and I miss it dearly… except for the sleepless nights studying… and being broke… and exams. Ok, maybe being an adult has its perks, lol!
