When: Friday, January 20th, 2011
Where: Work + Dinner @ The Redhead
What: Blazer (Nine West via Burlington Coat Factory), dress (Forever 21), tights (???), shoes (Vince Camuto), belt (H&M)
I felt like quite the studious librarian in my tweed blazer. All I needed was some suede elbow patches and a pair of reading glasses to complete the look, but instead I opted for a floral chiffon mini dress, navy blue tights, and a pair of ankle boots. I never was much for tradition.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering about the title of this post, check out the video below by Bill Cunningham. According to him, the look that dominates high fashion in New York these days is a long stretch of leg, ankle boots and a new posture.
cute outfit. if i could change one thing, i would add a red belt for an extra pop of color. but gorgeous just the same 🙂 That video was great too thanks for sharing!

I like how you mixed different fabrics together in this outfit. Very cute and classic at the same time! Do you have any rules/advice about how many pieces of jewlery to wear at a time?
so pretty! love the blazer- librarian chic!

I’d say *sexy* librarian! Love the sweet little dress with the more serious blazer. You look so pretty.
Thanks! Glad you like it.
I love that you paired a blazer with such a feminine dress. Great idea to cinch in the waist, too!
There mine, and you can’t have them, lol!
This blazer really works with this dress, which is so pretty and feminine! I was ogling your accessories – I really love the ring and the bracelet.

Thanks. I’m pretty sure I got them both at F21.
Very flirty yet classy outfit! Love your jewlery too. Do you have any rules you abide by when it comes to how much jewlery to pair with an outfit?
It really all depends on my mood and the rest of my outfit. The more minimal the outfit, the more jewelry I like to pile on. I also sometimes go by Coco Chanel’s rule of removing one accessory before leaving the house.
Hmmm… I always like to wear a watch or bracelet on one of my wrists, and I feel naked without earrings… like seriously. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve picked up “emergency” earrings at the drugstore when I leave the house without a pair.
Cute outfit! The floral minidress is adorable.
Thanks, it’s one of my favs!
It’s a really nice get-up. It’s not too casual nor too edgy. It’s just perfect for everyday use.
