I’ve sauntered into Joe Fresh on several occasions but always left empty-handed.  The colorful items in the display window always drew me in, but I never felt compelled enough to pull the trigger and make a purchase.  But that all changed the other day while I was doing a bit of window-shopping during my lunch break.  As luck would have it, they were having a major sale, and I snagged this pink and black striped confection for $19! It’s made from a substantial, crisp cotton that works great for the office as well the weekend.  Something tells me I’ll be rocking this baby all summer long.

Closet Raid: My Outfits Lately…

Hello Friends!

I’ve spent so much time playing catch up after my vacation that I haven’t had the chance to do a proper photo shoot.  To make up for it, I’ve been documenting my daily duds (Freudian slip, perhaps?) over on my Instagram feed.  Here’s a glimpse of how last week shaped up for me fashion-wise:

  1. I wore ruffles and stripes while spending the day heads-down, catching up on emails and prepping for upcoming client meetings and events.
  2. It’s been a while since I wore head-to-toe pink, so I made the most of the occasion with lace and bows.
  3. I wanted to look spiffy while hosting a joint marketing seminar with an old business colleague, so I opted for my new floral skirt from H&M, and of course another bow!
  4. Eric told me I should send these overalls back, but I disagreed and instead wore them for a day of chores and errands.
  5. I’d been saving this cocktail dress I picked up in Milan last Christmas (I’m so upset we don’t have this store in the States!), and finally got to wear it to Carnegie Hall for an impromptu trip to the symphony!

And there you have it folks: My personal fashion week summed up in 60 seconds!

I’m away on spring break official business right now, but I wanted to share with you guys the outfit I wore on the first day of spring a few weeks ago.  I don’t think I’ve ever gotten complimented on my outfit by so many strangers before.  As you can tell from the photos, the city was still pretty much a sea of black and drab colors at the time.  I think folks were just really happy to see someone in color again.
