Ahhh… Chictopia10… I came. I saw. I twittered.
I learned so much at this conference and made so many great connections! I seriously twittered my little heart out during this event, which was a rather interesting experience. I learned that it’s a little tough to pay attention to what the speaker is saying and tweet at the same time. Consequently, I found myself reading other folks’ tweets to catch up on what I missed. Crazy right!? “The mind boggles…” (a direct quote from Kelly Bundy for all you Married With Children fans).
To recap the event, I’ll just leave you with a few of my Twitter highlights:
- just arrived at the conference! so many fashionable ladies in the room 🙂
- good to hear that @chictopia has taken steps to protect members’ privacy and ensure images aren’t used without permission. Kudos!
- Listening to Kristin Burrows, CEO @Keds at #chictopia10, reminded me of my recent post in my shiny new kicks: http://ht.ly/2CZLz
- Cate Everett @womensweardaily is much more influenced by the web than by magazines. She checks out personal style blogs on the regular.
- Catherine Rolfe at says she shops less and focuses more on personal style since starting her blog—>me too!
- Brand are receptive to emails from bloggers… Just hit send! —> who knew it was so easy, lol!
- @ej_samson from Teen Vogue uses “guerilla style” marketing techniques just like the rest of us to get the word out online
- “I felt kind of weird making a fan page for myself, like how egotistical am I?”<— I felt the same way, lol!
- “brands are looking to bloggers for feedback & a different perspective than what they get in corporate offices”
- The thing that’s always on my mind: “Search vs. Social Media: What Drives Traffic?” Taking copious notes
- learned something new: there’s a limit of 1000 tweets/day on a twitter account. i think i’m safe from ever hitting that limit!
- @DinoRay has love-hate relationship with sponsored content on blogs. common sense tip: if you don’t like it, don’t feature it!
- “The Internet allows everyone to have a voice. Everyone has a voice in fashion.”<— I tend to agree
