Red Blazer + Chanel Brooch

red-blazer-chanel-brooch-{ZARA Blazer, H&M Top & Sailor Pants, CHANEL Brooch (more options here), CHANEL Shoes, RALPH LAUREN Bucket Bag,}

Ever put on an outfit and just feel… GOOD?

Well that’s exactly how I felt the day I wore this ensemble to work. The day was filled with client meetings in Midtown, and so I wanted to look polished but still have fun with my outfit. Enter my new red double-breasted blazer from Zara which is everything you need in life right now. Seriously, this thing is amazing. It’s tailored to perfection and makes me feel oh-so-chic!

Also, if you’ve watched my fashion hacks video on how to instantly upgrade your wardrobe, you’ll notice that I’ve employed three of my style secrets in this ensemble to help elevate my look:

  1. Designer shades
  2. A Chanel brooch
  3. A killer pair of heels

Orange You Glad It’s Spring?!

{ZARA Trench Coat, H&M Bow Sweater (similar), BROOKS BROTHERS Pleated Skirt, DOONEY & BOURKE Tote,  J. CREW Heels}

I love this sweater so much, but there’s really only a 2-4 week period out of the year that a short-sleeve sweater actually makes sense. Oh well, might as well have fun while it lasts!

Dress Code{Contrast Collar Dress + Gingham Coat}

{ZARA Contrast Collar Dress (similar here and here), J. CREW Gingham Coat and Leather Flats, H&M Rhinestone Brooch (similar), RALPH LAUREN Bucket Bag}

While I do enjoy experimenting with my style, I always find myself coming back to classics, slightly preppy looks – like this simple schoolgirl-inspired contrast-collar dress and tailored wool coat. I recently had to head out of town unexpectedly with only 30 minutes to pack. With no time to spare, I reached for the easy, no-fail pieces in my closet like this dress and it’s grey counterpart. Now that I think about it, I probably have 5-6 versions of this outfit in different colors and sleeve lengths… and that suits me just fine. To keep the look from being boring, I added red lips (on my face and on my dress, lol!) for an unexpected touch of color.

And what about you – do you have a favorite fallback or style that you come back to again and again?
