Dressed for Romance

Yellow Lace Sundress, Straw Clutch{H&M Lace Midi Dress (similar here and here) and Fringe Earrings, VINTAGE Straw Clutch (similar), FENDI Sunglasses, LANVIN Sandals}

After working from all day while dressed in leggings and a sports bra, my husband Face-Timed me to see if I wanted to meet up for an impromptu dinner date. Fifteen minutes later, I was primped, coiffed and dressed in this romantic lace frock that I scooped up last year at H&M. I’m excited to see that they’ve kept a good thing going this season with even more beautiful dresses to choose from that won’t break the bank.

I kept the look clean and simple with nude sandals and this gorgeous vintage straw clutch from the 1950s that I picked up at a random consignment shop in Tarrytown. It seems like straw handbags of all shapes and sizes have been popping up all over my Instagram feed lately, and I’ve been happy to pull my modest collection out of storage for the season.

The Anthropologie Sales Rack is SO GOOD Right Now!

{ANTHROPOLOGIE Dress, J. CREW Hat & Earrings, PRADA Sunglasses, FOREVER 21 Clutch (similar here and here), BASS Sneakers (similar here and here)}

If it were up to me, my entire summer wardrobe would be sourced exclusively through Anthropologie. Their sales rack is full of irresistible goodies right now, like this amazing shirtdress that I’m completely smitten with at the moment. Crisp cotton dresses like this are just perfect for the weather we’ve been having in NYC this spring.

Since we were spending some times outdoors, I decided to go playful with my ensemble by rolling up my sleeves and pairing my frock with sneakers, a wide bring hat and oversized shades. But this dress could easily be dressed up with heels and maybe a cropped blazer for the office.

How to Wear a Jumpsuit

equus-tarrytown-malandrino-jumpsuit, how to wear a jumpsuit

{H&M Blazer (similar here and here), CATHERINE MALANDRINO Jumpsuit, JUDITH LEIBER Clutch (similar), MANOLO BLAHNIK ‘BB’ Pumps}

When jumpsuits regained popularity a few years ago, I thought there was no way I could pull one off. As it turns out, I was way overthinking the matter. These days it seems like I can’t get enough of them, and they’ve officially replaced maxi dresses as my favorite travel outfit. For my frame (tall, with narrow hips and full thighs) I find that a tapered leg opening works best as opposed to a wide-leg, flowy silhouette.

I’ve worn this jumpsuit casually with sneakers and a jean jacket, but this time I dressed it up with heels and a blazer for a romantic dinner at Equus Restaurant at Castle Hotel & Spa.
