Some families shop on Thanksgiving… we prefer to wear plaid!

Every year on the day after Thanksgiving (aka Black Friday), I indulge my husband’s obsession with this famous green and blue tartan and don a head-to-toe black watch plaid look. The day is officially known in our house as #BlackWatchFriday, and it’s one of my favorite (ok only) sartorial celebrations. It’s even more fun, now that we can throw Christian into the mix. Last year’s family affair even wound up becoming our Christmas card.

Let’s give it up one time for the birthday girl!

I wore this outfit recently to celebrate my birthday. It was a pretty low-key affair – Eric, Christian and I went out for a dinner at one of my favorite steakhouses – Porter House in Columbus Circle. Believe it or not, I used to shy away from animal prints. But baby, look at me now! I spotted this dress at H&M recently, and I liked it so much that I purchased thrice – in 3 different prints. What can I say, I like what I like.

I originally paired this outfit with red ankle boots, but as I was getting ready, I spied these delicious leopard print booties collecting dust at the top of my wardrobe and decided to throw them on instead. To break up the leopard print, I added a pair of slouchy black socks and quite like the way this look turned out.

I used to be a dresses and heels kinda gal, but motherhood has changed that up quite a bit – especially now that Christian is officially a VERY active toddler. Luckily, my jumpsuit game is pretty on point – thanks to Old Navy! I did a try-on session on my InstaStories a while back, and raved about this particular one. I snatched it up, tried it on, immediately took it home with me and proceeded to wear it to death afterwards. I especially love the styling here with cheerful red accessories.
