Bohemian Peasant Dress

This is easily one of my favorite outfits of the season… and yes, I realize that’s not saying much since we’re only about a week in! But seriously, as soon as I saw this bohemian-style dress I knew that I had to have it in my closet. Since it’s not quite sandal weather yet, (thank goodness, because I’m in dire need of a pedicure) I decided to pair it with these gorgeous Alaia booties that I picked up on clearance at Sak’s Off Fifth a while back. They were a total splurge, but worth every penny. They’re also pretty excruciating to walk in but visually striking enough for me to ignore that fact… especially when I know I have a backup pair of flats in my bag to offer some relief. Le sigh… the things ~~I stupidly and repeatedly~~ we do for fashion!

Bell Sleeves on Belle Isle

I’ve been traveling back to my hometown of Detroit more recently as of late, and it’s been incredible to see the city transform a little more each time I visit. Old stately homes are being restored to their former glory, and the downtown area is springing back to life. The weather gods smiled upon us on our last trip, and the temps climbed to an unheard of 70 degress! If you’ve ever experienced a typical Michigan winter, then you know exactly how HUGE (and rare) that is. So of course, I ditched my tights and headed to one of my favorite spots in the city – Belle Isle. And what could be a more fitting outfit for such a place than bell sleeves?!

I know a lot of ladies have been on the fence about bell sleeves (because accidentally dragging your outfit through spaghetti sauce is no fun), but this is one bandwagon that I’m riding wholeheartedly.

Camel Coat + Tiger Print Sweater

True-story: I haven’t owned a pair of sweats since college. So when I feel the need to be cozy and casual, my go-to uniform looks something like this. This sweater is easily the comfiest thing in my closet right now, and I wore this exact outfit on a flight recently. The security agent even stopped me to ask where I got it (she at least waited until after my pat-down). I paired it with these super-soft leggings (that I also own in black) for the ultimate in comfort. Not gonna lie… I’ve probably worn this outfit once or twice a week for the past month and a half.
