J. Crew Postcard Prints

J. Crew Postcard Print Skirt & Top, J. Crew Bow Top, NYC Fashion Blogger, Central Park{J. CREW Postcard Print Top & Skirt, PRADA Sunglasses, H&M Tassel Earrings and Bow Sandals}

When J. Crew rolled out this postcard print, I just knew I had to have it. I took a gamble and waited a week or two for a sale to crop up (because let’s face it, who really pays full price at J. Crew?), and my patience paid off when I scored this top on the cheap! I didn’t get so lucky with the skirt as it sold out before going on sale, but luckily good old Nordie’s came through in a pinch. The two pieces together make a pretty bold statement, and I got tons of compliments while taking these photos. But you can definitely tone down the look by wearing them separately.

About the Fit:
Both the top and skirt fit true-to-size. The top is made of a substantial stretchy cotton and is a great length for wearing both tucked and untucked. Crew necks can be tricky if you have a larger bust (I usually opt for v-necks and scoop necks), but this tee was just too cute to pass up. The skirt hits right below the knee on my 5’7″ frame, and it also comes in petite (and tall) sizing.

Bows on Top

{ZARA Cardigan (similar), CLUB MONACO Top (on sale!), H&M Sailor Pants (similar), PRADA Sunglasses, c/o CHARMING CHARLIE Earrings, RALPH LAUREN Hat, STUART WEITZMAN Shoes}

90% of the time if you see me wearing head-to-toe black and white, it’s because I was in a rush to get ready that morning. It’s a foolproof style hack that never lets me down. I threw some fun into the mix this go ’round with a fabulous statement-making Club Monaco top. I fell completely in love with it when I spied it on the clearance rack and have been tempted to go back for the stripe version as well. The bow on the shoulder gives just the right feminine touch to finish off the look.

Because I had a client meeting to go to earlier in the day, I tossed on this contrast trim cardigan that I picked up from the Zara clearance sale a while back. It’s sold out now, but I found a really great dupe at Target.

About the Fit:
This relaxed-fit top is made from a stretchy knit with lots of give, so it’s hard to go wrong with this one. Just get a great strapless bra (this one gets a gold star), and you’re good to go.  The length is also perfect for wearing both tucked and untucked.

Pietro Nolita {A Study in How to Wear Pink}

Delicious (and healthy) Italian food, plus all pink everything..?

Well go ahead, and sign me up!

After seeing it’s bubble gum pink exterior pop up all over my Instagram feed for ages, I finally made my way downtown to Pietro Nolita. And of course, I just had to dress for the occasion in a fun, girly head-to-toe pink ensemble. Not gonna lie, I felt kinda basic when I strolled up and saw a line of women waiting outside to take pictures. But hey, sometimes a gal’s gotta do what a gal’s gotta do for the ‘gram…

In addition to having the cutest decor, the food was also pretty good. Their schtick is “healthy” Italian, and I will say that I felt much lighter and more energetic than I usually do after stuffing my face full of pasta. We started with the goat cheese and oat tomato crositini and split fusilli al limone and chicken on the brick for our main entrees. Everything was great, but the pasta especially knocked it out of the park for me. We left feeling full, but not overstuffed, and even saved room for dessert at the OddFellows Ice Cream Co. pop-up shop around the corner (they’re caramel popcorn cone is to die for).

If you ever find yourself in Manhattan and decide to give Pietro Nolita a whirl, be sure to dress the part. The dress I’m wearing is sold out in pink on H&M’s website, but it also comes in white and blue. But no need to fret, ‘cuz I’ve rounded up a few more options for you below to help you on your way to totally pinked out bliss!

About the Fit:
This dress fits like a dream, and it’s hard to go wrong. I got my normal size and was able to wear it straight off the rack with no issues. I LOVE the fact that it has pockets, and the shorter length is perfect on my 5’7″ frame without showing off all the goods. 😉
