Dressing my postpartum body has been a lot of trial and error over these past few weeks – especially since I can’t zip around the city and spend hours in and out of fitting rooms like I used to. To compensate, I’ve been doing a LOT of online shopping (and returning!) to try and figure out what works for my new physique. This dress I recently picked up at ASOS was a pleasant surprise. I added it to my cart on whim and was so pleased with how it turned out. So much so, that I immediately popped the tags, threw on some sandals and a straw hat and went for a stroll around the neighborhood.

About the Fit:
This dress fits true-to-size and hits right at the ankle on my 5’7″ frame. The bodice ties up in the cutest little bow in the back, and I love that it’s wide enough to cover up my bra. You can also easily adjust how tight or loose you want the bow, which means it works for a variety of cup sizes – a MUST for a nursing mama like me!

Life with a newborn is like nothing I’d ever imagined. I’ve had more than my fair share of sleepless nights – followed by long days spent taking care of my little one and adjusting to his needs and habits. It’s been amazing, stressful, exhilarating, wonderful, and frightening, all at the same time.

We recently took Christian on one of his first outings to Fort Tryon Park, nestled in Washington Heights. It was lovely spending the afternoon enjoying nature. After a relaxing brunch (that included frosé!), we strolled through the gardens and watched boats sail by on the Hudson River. It was a great way to end a hectic week, and I look forward to our next family excursion.

ABOUT THE ‘FIT:

I may be a little late to the party, but I am loving the Who What Wear collection at Target. This flowy green maxi dress fits true-to-size and is oh-so-forgiving to my postpartum tummy. I also dressed it up with heels and a straw hat for a recent bridal shower I attended and got tons of compliments. For reference, the dress hits right at the ankle on my 5’7″ frame.
